As I served as an active Fire Fighter/EMT/Recovery Diver for 24+ years, I still have a tendency to be "over-prepared", if such a term is valid.
Every vehicle (2 cars, truck) has, at a minimum, a BK2, a BK3, a 14" bolt cutter, a hack saw, and at least 2 spring loaded window punches. The first 4 are in the "emergency cutting tool" gear bag. I glued velcro to the punches and mounted them down deep at the bottom of the door pockets. The Camry has a third one in the back seat in the drawer that opens rearward into the backseat in the center console.
Additionally, the truck has a machete (or two), an ax and a 30" crowbar.
The tractor has a BK2, a BK3, a machete, a bolt cutter and a crow bar.
When I was still actively running calls, my EDC load-out (in my Tahoe) consisted my fire bunker gear, all my EMT gear (medical bag, trauma bag, O2 bottles, backboard and straps, full set of splints, and a little more), my high-angle rescue equipment, a full set of SCUBA gear.
My duty belt would have 2 pair of trauma shears, 2 seat belt cutters, a spring punch, and a couple of Kabar 1232s, pocket mask (for CPR), rubber glove carrier, radio and pager. I made custom sheaths/carriers for the pocket mask and gloves to also hold the shears and I zip-tied the sheaths for the seat belt cutters to the Kabar sheaths.
