Do you mind knives that cut you. I normally put away knives that cut me, probably not using it again, so far I have put away a few. I know some would say its me whos careless, but i do not like to use knives that had cut me before. they just feel dangerous and have a bad track record. :)

whats your views?

please tell me you're not serious.

Seriously dude, are you serious? A dull knife is more dangerous than a sharp one. You tend to take "chances" with a dull one that you wouldn't take with a sharp one. Besides that, whats the purpose of a knife anyway????

I always like to have a little beer buzz when sharpening, it steadies your hand for a nice clean edge.

yeah, I also put away my guns that shoot. Just too dangerous like that...:p

Heck, I CHERISH the knives that bite me. They are my friends.

A knife that I have cut myself with is likely a knife that I use a lot. If I put away every knife that I cut myself with, I wouldn't be able to carry most of my favorites.

I took a chunk out of my finger with a brand new, out of the box Paragon folding hunter and I have only gone back to take it out of the box once and it stays locked up the rest of the time. Small slices and nicks won't doom a knife unless I feel that it has a design flaw.

yeah, I didn't consider knives with flaws. If a knife has a flaw that causes it to be dangerous, I will not use it.

otherwise, everytime I've ever been cut, it was MY fault. don't punish a knife for my stupidity...:D

i got cut bad by the first big bowie i made (10 stitches total), cut me 2 times before i knew what happened. it was more than scarry sharp and it made the hair on my neck stand on end whenever i had it out of the sheath. a friend at the time wanted it so i sold it to him cheap. now i wish i had kept it.

I agree...I just threw out my vintage Wurlitzer 1015 Jukebox because I stubbed my toe on it...far too dangerous to have in the house.

It is silly to blame an inanimate object for something we did to ourselves unless the object caused the injury through failure. If I was cutting something and the blade broke cutting me in the process I would toss it. But if I cut myself because I was careless then it sure wasn't the knives fault. I would have to lock up several of my kitchen knives as well as many of my EDCs if I put away every knife that drew blood.

A knife isn't really yours until it has tasted your blood. ;)

Seriously, I've never had a knife cut me without my help. If a previously inanimate object attacks me, yes I'll put it away. Or destroy it. That hasn't happened in a half century and I don't expect it to happen in the next half century, either.

If I'm using a knife that just doesn't handle well for me, or seems dangerous to use, I'll put it aside and not use it. It may or may not have cut me.

By the same token I've been cut many times by knives that I still carry. In that case it was my fault, not the fault of the knife.

If I gave myself a serious cut with a knife, I'd consider having myself put away, not the knife. The knife is just a tool that by itself is incapable of anything - it's only through negligence or stupidity that you could cut yourself with one. Why would you blame a knife for the user's carelessness?

I have a kershaw Blade Trader and the blade falls out. I dont use it. The worst design I ever seen.
