well as many of you know i work at a machine shop. i talked to the boss about making logo stamps and it looks like he is willing to let me do it. we have an EDM stamp etcher that will etch the stamp blank. The edm etching pad will be milled on a cnc mill using auto cad. the stamp depth will be .035-.040 and very very crisp and clean and made from any material you want. we use a set of 3 etching pads to get the best possible stamp. our shop makes the stamps for the little giant latter factory in town. im making mine but i thought i would spred the word to see if there was anyone else needing some. it looks like to get 2 stamps would be just a little bit more then one as we just need to make 1 extra etching pad. im going to find out about prices .

Hi Jarod,

I'm interested, but have a few questions, as I'm not sure what a tang stamp is.
  • Would I be able to stamp perpendicular to the blade on the ricaso with it? In other words, what size stamps can you make and how close to the handle/guard can I get with them?
  • If so, would I be able to stamp on both sides of the ricaso: name/mark on one side, steel type on the other with these?
  • What steel do you have or would you recommend the stamp be made out of?
  • And finally (I think) what kind of press would I need to get together for it?
Thanks, Phil

You're going to have some work to do!!! :D:D
