Do you obsessively buy multiples of favorite knives?

I'm looking over your list and I see variations and maybe one multiple of the same model. Compulsive? Let's be reasonable here. A guy naturally would want to collect variations of his fav models. And 2, or 3:D , of the same config of the same model I can understand. I mean a guy needs "one to drop" and maybe a sharp spare. Now if a guy (sorry, or a gal) gets half a doz of the same config, same model, now that's getting a little weird:rolleyes: (obsessive/compulsive) unless he's a dealer. I know nobody out there does that!;) Do they???

 That's too many! You need to add a couple of the green ones to MY Collection of Ares'. I only have red ones! :grumpy:

I'm trying to get all the different variants of the Ares, probably my fave cost-effective production folder. I have one more to get before I'm finished....and the last one has eluded me for a while.

...and which one might that be?

Kershaw Speed Safe Knifes...

They're worse than crack.

I have an assortmentment of 4 Leeks, 3-4 Scallions, and too many chives to count.

I keep expecting some legislation to come along and make them illegal. No, that doesn't work, because I'm in the Army. I guess I just like 'em.

Yes. Once I like the feel of a certain knife I usually buy more than one. My EDC was a Benchmade 940 then a 941 and now a 940Ti. Likewise, Benchmade's Ritter Griptilian, I picked up more than one. If I don't like a particular knife then if someone expresses a desire it usually becomes a gift, otherwise it just goes back in its box. Future eBay stuff I s'pose.

GB -- you did the right thing! After all, the VG-10 Caly is now discontinued. The second one is a wise backup is the first one is lost, stolen or broken. The third one can be sold or even better used as a gift to a good friend. ;)

Not a bad knife to have a lifetime supply of.

I could not just buy one Sebenza, hell no, I needed 3 from the start.

One large reg S30V New
One large reg BG42 Used
One small left classic New

What if one needs repair!!!!!

Flame me if you must...but about a year ago, I came across a dealer that sold me a bunch of Boker MAGNUM auto knives for a very good price.

Prior to coming across this deal, I had two of the MAGNUM's and loved them. As you all know, they are nothing fancy or of utmost high quality, but for what they cost, they are indeed a good knife.

Anyway, I picked up about 20 or so of them for a song and a dance.

BTW: I don't sing or dance worth a damn. :D

732HSBT....black G10 scales like the current edition 732, but with the M2 steel BT-coated blade.
Rare is an understatement, for a production knife.

Holy cow! ...and what did dear ole mom get for Christmas that year? :D No kiddin' did you have a sale or are you keepin em for posterity?

agony: 732HSBT, I copy that. So, you've got every Ares except that one:p ? I'll give you a headsup if I see one. That 732BK is the only one they make now--right? Go figure. I snagged one of those 733-02 with the rosewood scales and PE S30V. It lives in the attache. I feel like washing my hands before I handle it;)

I bought a second Victorinox Settler just in case something bad happens to the one in my pocket.

A little of both....actually. I just took an inventory. I have 25 of um. :D

I tend to buy a few of the same knife too for my favorite models....

I have about 30 Spydie Police with different handle and blade material. I'm still looking for a LNIB titanium handle Police though.

With so many different knives available, I can't imagine having duplicates. I buy something completely different each time.

I would like to get in the practice of buying duplicates when I see a kick-a** sale. Like the $30 closeout Ek knives from Effingham, Ill. I could only afford one. :(

I have the duplicate/triplicate bug also. Just bought my third small reg Sebenza. I not only need a backup, but I need a backup for my backup. 'Cause, what if something were to happen to the one I'm using/carrying? I would have to go to my backup, then I wouldn't have a backup if I didn't have a backup to my backup. I do the same thing with Surefire's also. Three E2E's. But wait! I also have backup dogs. Two Border Collies, two Australian Sheperds, Two Shetland Sheepdogs. I've tried to talk my wife into letting me have a backup wife (ie: girlfriend), but she won't go for it. Oh well, life ain't perfect. I feel "safe," by the way, with three Sebenzas.

I have five CRK Mnandis but that just happens to be the knife on which I have chosen to focus my collecting efforts. I carry/use two of them while the others are safely put away. At this point I'm no longer looking for standard inlays only harder to find versions that I can put up with the others. ;)
