Do you own a knife that is as old as you are?

I was born in 1991. This phrobis cuk was produced in 1991, the same age as me.

This is the "housewife knife". Made 1970-79.

1979 model myself, so it was probably made before me.

All norwegian households had one or more of these in the kitchen.

It's a great all round kitchen knife, but excels at cutting bread.

I think most of them are gone now, thanx to all the house wifes putting them into the dish washer and ruining the wood handle..

I was lucky and found a unused one a couple of years ago, think I paid 10$.

It's kind of nostalgic to me:

Beautiful knife and awesome back story, thanks for sharing.

I have a Case Copperhead from the year I was born, still in mint condition, and a whole bunch of other knives that are older than I am. Several Bucks that are around the same timeframe. Even more special to me is that I have the 6 blade Parker Japan Congress my grandpaw was carrying when I was born. It was in his pocket in the waiting room as I was making my arrival. Also have my mothers knife she had in her purse when I was born. I don’t know when either knife was made but I asked grandpaw when he got his Parker and he said he traded another knife for it at TVA sometime in the 1970’s and it was one of his favorites. Moms is a KaBar stockman. About the size of a Buck 301 but it has brass bolsters and wood handles. Both have stainless blades probably some sort of 440 I reckon.

Cool story, thanks for sharing. Those are keepers!

Yes.

One that is older by atleast 25 years. Born a long time ago.

My Uncle earned it.

Fought a Gestapo during WWII.

A knife fight.

I won't provide a picture. I do not want to offend anyone and I don't feel like going to my bank vault.

I don't want to derail the thread explaining myself.
