Do you own a knife that is as old as you are?

Not confirmed, but if we can guess at how many Scharde LB1s that were sold by a small hardware store in the far north of Canada, I'd bet it was sitting in the cabinet for at least a few years when it was bought for me at about age 4. The deal was that it was mine when I was the same height as the display cabinet, to the point that when we moved, that same hardware store sold a tape measure with a mark inked at the height of the cabinet. So I figure that's as close as I can get.

Then please start your own thread just to show the knife and tell the story!
I believe The Mods wouldn't want to deal with the comments about the symbols and words on it. I don't know just how many 'new' folks would emerge and post comments that would be provocative and troublesome.

It would be a thread that started out about a knife, yet become a political discussion quite quickly.

Precedence: A lot of threads about knives made in China.

Maybe I'm cynical. Or just maybe, I simply want to stay on topic.

Apologies.

I feel like I'm derailing this topic...

I will say this, to conclude: Uncle Tom returned home and became an engineer. He worked for Kenner and made 'Star Wars' figures when their original toy line began.

My oldest was a gift from mother in law. It's her personal carry Case Senator in stainless. 5-Dot, which I believe puts it at 1975. Just 2 years younger than me. It regularly makes it into daily rotation.
