Do You Pace Yourself When Buying?

I sometimes think it would be worth Lonely Friday nights, just to have more cash for knives, but then again, my 3 boys and wife do have some perks.

I had the wife once, maybe will have one again - the key is to get the right one! Don't take the wife and kids for granted!! I think I really do have a knife habit though...is there a support group for that?? What would it be called - KAA (Knife Addicts Anonymous)?

I pretty much set my own knife spending limits and I'm finished for 2006. I tried to pace myself , but I went on a binge from 11/05 - 5/06.

My last purchase for 2006 should have been a Large Sebenza for my birthday, but I saw a rifle I really wanted.

So the Sebenza is on hold until next year ( or whenever)....

I hate to say this , but in my experience I think having less is better. I use only a few favorites and I have way too many to ever use them all. In some ways I get a deeper feeling of satisfaction carrying a favorite knife that's been with me for years than trying to rotate 50 or 100 knives.

I'm not saying it isn't fun buying a new knife , I'm just sharing some miscellaneous thoughts.

No I don't pace myself. My wife paces me. :D I'd be running amuck without here acting as my thermostat controller.

Too funny,The same thing happens to me but somehow I get around her and buy more.:D

Knife collecting is seductive.. it creeps up on you slowly. Once you buy that "ultimate knife" (in my case the Sand Shark) you might imagine it's over..but no. That's not how it works. Yes, you have a dozen Mikovs..but not THAT one...see how it goes?

How do you pace yourself when Kershaw and Spyderco keep announcing new knives in ZDP. Just when I think I have all the knives I like, they make new ones that I don't have so I must buy. ZDP is my weakness.
