Do you rotate........

Very random rotation, but spending a lot of time around the house allows multiple choice for the appropriate cut. And I have a car console knife, a desk knife...

I only have a few, 2 at the moment that I will switch back and forth every week or month, or a few months. Ive been carrying the Queen #9 for a few weeks now. certain knives tend to grow on me.

I rotate every few days usually.

I do the same but I have groups of knives at each location and rotate amongst too :D

I rotate, lately the choices seem to be fewer because I''ve come to favor a few over the many

My tastes have become more refined over the years, my expectations for a traditional EDC knife are a lot more specific so that greatly influences my daily choices.

Experience governs rotation, that and mood.

Mind you, I've always liked to change around knives but I just can't get the 73 Northfield Stag out of my pocket! It pleases me on so many levels, thick but not awkward stag, easy to open, liner lock, fine patina, very sharp,no build quality issues AND it improves all the time!

However, we usually wear clothes with more than one pocket....and the same food can make you jaded!

Nope, I haven't been able to kick my Case Back Pocket or Mohawk Valley easy open jack out of my pocket. Since I got either.

It sure is hell carrying around all these knives though. I counted 8 folders this morning in my pants pockets :D ;).

Oh well, a belt and suspenders can't look too bad...

Rotate - more or less. This group started as 7 knives which I pulled out a few weeks ago to keep on my dresser in a small cigar box to pick from each day. I gradually added a knife every now and then until it turned into this group that, according to my wife, is taking up more than my allotted space.

So I'm about to clean and oil them all, touch up the edges, put them away and start all over with a different group. But, I'm sure a few of these will make it back into the mix. Please excuse the crummy cell phone pic, and the presence of a few modern autos and assisted openers, and a modern fixed blade. And I'm saving a spot for the 2010 forum knife! I have a feeling it's about to get quite a bit of pocket time.

it depends, I have like 20 or more and carry most of them
some get carried more some les, depends on day, time, where I go, what I go there for and so on

some are day some are night carry (need less knife)

Rotation is the name of the game for me.

Depending on whether I'm at work or at home and if it's a day off, what I'll be doing, determines what I'll be carrying.

For work I prefer a medium-sized one-hand opening (and closing) knife that clips to my right rear pocket, so I'm usually carrying a modern design; generally a Benchmade Axis lock of some sort. But I often have a small slippie in my pocket as well. My new GEC Tidioute Sleeveboard in Frontier Bone is getting all the pocket time these days.

For days off, depending on the day's activities, I may carry a larger folder like my GEC Northfield Tractor Green Jigged Bone Sunfish or a smaller pattern like my Queen D2 Serpentine Jack or the Schrade Stockman I've had since 1977.

On days off in the woods, I usually have a fixed blade on my belt and a traditional folder in my pocket. That folder has been a Vic Farmer or other SAK most of the time, but I've picked up three old Camillus #99 Camp knives that I'll be pocketing. I have a Queen D2 Gunstock that I like a lot, too.

Too many knives... not enough pockets! :)

Stay sharp,

Seems like the older I get and the more knives I get the more quickly I rotate.

At one time I carried the same knife for more than a decade, now I change about every 2-3 weeks.

There was a time in the 70's and 80's when I carried the same knife every day, pretty close to ten years worth.

Anymore I don't so much rotate, which implies a set schedule, as vary what I carry. I may carry the same knife for a couple of weeks straight, or I might change daily.

If I didn't rotate I'd never know what was at the bottom of my drawer.

i get all my gecs out & lay them in a big display on white carpet. after drinking pink kool aid i prostrate my torso atop the cutters & waving my arms & feet make a gec snowman--smoke that
