Do you rotate........

I like to rotate mostly based on my mood and destination. If I'm going to a play downtown I may grab something different than what I carried to work. The one knife that's almost constant is my Izula neck carried though. Then I'll ad a spyderco or traditional folder, or both.

Rotate? HAH!

There's a reason I rattle when I walk!

Well, not that bad. But I have certain knives I take to work and certain knives I carry away from work and certain knives I take to church if pockets are limited by jeans instead of cargo pants, etc.

And if I'm going to do some sort of work I might stick a different knife in each pocket because you just never know what knife you'll need for the situations that might arise while you are out and about. :D

Every single day for 8 yrs, the same blade is with me. I dont really remember if there was a day I went somewhere and didnt have it on me. Mostly I dont carry it when I just pop out for a sec, but anything longer than that, I have it with me, And I dont think I would be switching soon

Do you feel like identifying the blade you've carried for 8 years?
I carried a Camillus-made Buck 303 for about 10.

Identifying :D well Ill identify it as a chinese piece ... with no name and no brand whatsoever, chinese mystery stainless blade with a liner lock. But best for showing you would be a picture I guess so here goes:

I have batoned with it extensively, carved with it, opened countless number of packs and packets of all shapes and sizes. It is like a retarded child that you still love :D
I guess I would be more sad losing this one than any expensive blade, I grew with it, I really love it and it is more of an extension of me than merely a peace of metal.

Very cool... eight years of utility and satisfaction, now compounded by sentimental value, all from a minimal investment. You done good!

I hope it serves you for many more.

Stay sharp,

I currently rotate between five custom slipjoints from three makers with no particular rhyme or reason for my choice of the day.

I guess I do tend to carry the one scaled in Elephant Ivory for more "special" occasions. I will occasionally pocket the same knife for a couple of days, but not for an extended period. I also have knives that are part of my collection/accumulation and are NEVER carried.

Interesting thread for me, I guess if I collected them I would rotate.
As it stands now 2 knives for the last six years and the one in my pocket has a little more than 3 of those on it.
I once carried a buck stockman for 10 years, carried a Kabar muskrat for like 11. Guess I carry them as tools for whatever comes at them.
Ken.

There is another thread along these same lines. I 'fessed' up in that one so will come clean here also. Here is photo of my EDCs, only the two lockbacks in the upper right are new the rest are old knives, but have been in my pocket depending on the situation for 10 to 25 years running. The two longest carried are the Schrade made Buck 303 in upper left and the Vic Officer. I know those two in the upper right are unworthy of my attention but they are young and wild and I guess I am lamenting for my lost youth.........300Bucks
