Do you use your damascus blades?

I carry my small Damascus Sebbie as an EDC and use it for whatever tasks I use any knife for. If the blade ever gets too ratty looking, I can have CRK re-etch (for color) the blade so it looks brand new again.

Really? Their price list seems to infer that they only re-finish S30V and S35Vn blades. If they offer such a service for damascus, it would be nice, but I am not confident that they will.

Can anyone confirm that they WILL re-etch a blade?

IIRC, I have ran across a few threads in the knifemakers forum on how to re-etch using Ferric Chloride from Radio shack..but I do understand that this isn't a process everyone wants to try on their prized CRK's.

Is CRK etching the blades to begin with? I've read that Devin Thomas will re-etch the blades on his custom knives, maybe he will do the same for a CRK with his blades? I'll call in to CRK and if advised that they do not re-etch the damascus blades, contact Mr. Thomas. I'm curious about this now, as well.

I called in to CRK today and spoke to Angela. She advised that CRK DOES NOT cover re-etching under spa treatments but, they will re-etch Damascus blades starting at a base rate of $70 and increasing based on man hours.
