Do you use your pocket clip?

On the weekend, I use the clip. Weekdays, work is a non-permissive environment, so it just slides in the pocket -- or more usually, I carry a traditional (trapper or muskrat) to work, a clip-type away. I rotate about 12 knives in EDC so it all works out.

Sebenza iwb strong side, snuff lfp, keys rfp, wallet lrp. I started the knife iwb several years ago... When I depart a room or brothel I do a quick "pat down" making sure everything is were it needs to be.

No clip here. Clips seem to like to ride themselves out of my pocket. Had more than a few fall n the couches this way.

Been carrying in pocket for over 4 years now with no trouble. I carry small knives though, I imagine large ones would be uncomfortable having all that weight dangle in your pocket.

I need a pocket clip. Having quick access to the knife is a must for me I don't want to risk losing it. also i don't want to have to dig through my pocket to get it and when I put change in that pocket it gets stuck in the blade unless I use clip.

I never use a pocket clip, always have a lanyard attached and usually in an EDC bag in my cargo's. The lanyards are great for getting a better grip on smaller knives.
In the U.K. it isn't the best idea to advertise the fact that you are carrying a knife, too many raised eyebrows - until something needs cutting or opening.

No pocket clips for me, ever. Why?

1. No need to get to my knife in a hurry.
2. No need to advertise that I'm carrying a knife.
3. No need to be concerned about losing my knife if the clip gets snagged on something.

YMMV

I use clips on larger knives. The clipped knives usally end up in leg pocket of my cargo pants or a back pocket. I do think the clip will rub car seats and furniture upholstery, eventually cause extra wear, potentially snag something and cause a tear. My SAK stays in my right front pocket with my car keys.

Course I do, won't carry a knife without one(aside from an SAK on the keychain and that's carried for the other functions more than for use as a knife)

I rotate a Chris Reeve small Sebenza 21 and a Benchmade Barrage 586 and a Mini Barrage. I have removed the lanyard from the Chris Reeve and the clips from all three. I have never used a clip. I mostly wear cotton or wool slacks and mildly would rather not advertise I am carrying a knife. I also think the knife looks and feels better without the clip. But I am beginning to wonder if I should learn to use a clip and maybe even the lanyard. I have no idea how the lanyard might be used with slacks. I am right handed and often carry it weak side to fend them off while I struggle to get my handgun out from under my shirt so I can hold them off while I get to my shotgun. (My Sebenza is right handed) I tried the Benchmade with its clip, but found it hard to get if free fast, but I did not try very hard. Any advice would be appreciated.

I always used to use my pocket clip but I'm less likely to do it now because it just seems to get in the way more. I have no explanation for why my preferences are changing. Just one of those things that come with age, advancing decrepitude and curmudgeonism.

You gotta get a carabiner for your keys. Nothing beats getting that fat wad of keys out of the pocket and leaving plenty of room for knives!

Carried knives either in my pocket and/or on the belt forever, (both usually), but just recently got a tactical with a clip, (cheapie, just to see if I liked it). I find it comfy to carry while clipped into a pocket and a blast to play with, but a pain when I reach into that pocket; consequently I seldom use it for EDC, (occasionally though, despite the reaching-into-the-pocket thing and it's being relatively heavy(ish)). I've found that I prefer things a bit more "traditional", and like to clip things to a belt loop, so keys are on a carabiner and go into LF pocket w/ a hanky, and I often clip a CS Kudu w/ old fashioned snap clip onto a loop and down into my LR pocket, (hardly noticeable, no discomfort at all). Wallet goes in RR, Case Russlock in RF pocket. Depending on what I'm doing I also usually have a Buck 110, (or old Craftsman 95232, or Schrade 1250T), with horizontal carry-adapter in their respective sheath(s), usually @ 4 o'clock on the belt. I feel downright naked w/o at least two knives on me, and I usually have three. That doesn't count the "spares" I carry in a fanny pack, (a fixed blade is in their at all times too), which goes with me everywhere, (except on airliners of course). Don't have a CC permit anymore, (used to, but County says I don't need one anymore since I "retired", so they wouldn't renew it in their words for "casual carry"; sucks being from CA sometimes), so if I can't shoot 'em I'll damn sure stick 'em good.

I prefer using a nice and deep carry pocket clip like the one on the ZT 056x or the Benchmade Contego variety. I carry front right pocket unless I tuck in my shirt, then it goes in the back left pocket. I don't mind if people see the pocket clip because they don't know for sure if it's a knife or how big it is until I pull it out. I like to be discrete yet efficient.

I like a clip on every folder. I even have one on my Leatherman. I may not use it for anything but clipping my keys to it, but it is there if I want it.

Only my Trapper and my SAKs are clip free.

I knew I'd see you in this thread. I lost count of how many clips I took off for you, Bruce.. :D

i like having at least one knife with a pocket clip to isolate it from everything else in my pockets. normally it will be front right, but when i'm at work, that one goes to the back due to my holster mostly blocking the front pocket. i always have something weak hand accessible whether i'm at work or not.
