Do you wheir your knife clipped or not?

Clipped if I am wearing a shirt that conceals the clip, otherwise in the pocket.

I don't think 90% of people ever notice a knife clipped to a pocket, but those that do notice are unwelcome attention.

Unless it's a traditional I wear mine clipped. I don't like the feeling of my bigger knives riding loose in my pocket.

Having recently bought a convertible that has me leaning over the paint daily to drop the top or clean it up I've found 90% of the time I'm just slipping my La griffe into my pocket instead of having to remember to unclip my knife 5 or six times a day. Now to get another Izula and start selling off the folders! :D

I actually don’t carry my Spyderco Paramilitary 2 as often as I could. I carry my Kershaw Skyline more because it is the medium knife I carry(I want to change it to a leek eventually), so if no one was around I could pull it out (unclipped) and cut something open. If people are around, I recently bought a Leatherman Style CS that rides in my pencil bag along with a small classic SAK. One of the college instructors I had a couple terms ago asked the class if anyone had a smaller knife for this woman to open a USB memory package, the instructor also stated, “Not one of those big knives like you guys carry.” My little SAK worked like a champ, it will be cool if I can use my Style CS in the same situation.

I don't understand how it is possible to wear a knife exposed to general public. You will look strange in the eyes of other people and sooner or later you will have to explain the police why do you actually need that knife. Somewhere in the forest during camping it is all right of course but not in urban enviroment. If you need a knife you should wear it concealed - in the pocket, in the bag etc.

I almost never use the clip. I just carry loose in the pocket until I decide to make a belt sheath.

I carry clipped. I don't like a knife banging around in my pocket unless it's really small. I work in an office and it has never caused a problem

Hi Trail Edge -

I always have a medium or larger sized folder clipped inside my right front pocket.

I have never, ever, considered any of my knives weapons. My knives are just for cutting and enjoying as a collectible.

That said, there are many people that WOULD consider my knife a weapon, and as such, I try to avoid bringing too much attention to my knives.

best regards -

Clipped in my pocket. I too hate having things floating around and falling out of my pocket.

Never had any issue with anyone paying any attention to a visible clip on my pocket. Most people do not notice it at all. Some that do notice the clip, do not even realize it's a knife. Pluss I figure that if you act like a decent, reasonable person who uses knives responsibly, that's a good way to win people over to the acceptance, and usefulness of edc knives.

And there are no legal issues where I live, I've come into contact with many a LEO, and none have had any problem. When the topic has come up, the only comments I've ever received from an officer were to compliment my knife when I willingly offered to show it, and ask me where to find good deals on good knives. Upon realizing I was an enthusiast, I've had a few LEO's and soldiers proudly show me their own pocket knives..... usually a decent tactical styled Benchmade or the like.

If it has a pocket clip, then clipped, if it doesn't, then it sits in my pocket. If it comes with a sheath, then it goes on my belt. :D

same as someone else.... if the knife has a clip, I use it, period. just seems weird to have a knife with a clip just sitting in your pocket. But I also like traditional/gentlemans folder type clipless knives. I sometimes carry a buck toothpick knife, a case trapper, or a Vic huntsman SAK which is pretty beefy for the pocket.

I usually carry a fairly large folder (CRKT M16-04Z or Cold Steel Recon 1), so I carry in a (horizontal) belt-sheath that I modded from a cordura Leatherman multitool sheath.

Usually unclipped in my RFP. When I am wearing cargo pants I clip them to a cargo pocket so that the clip is obscured by the flap.

Best spelling of "wear" ever!

With that said, I have them clipped IWB because 1) I don't carry expensive knives in the same pocket as keys or cellphone. 2) My other pocket has my Android phone.

That leaves no free pocket except my back pockets, which are always empty. I don't like carrying anything of value there.

I always have my knife clipped to my front pocket. I will not ever buy a knife that doesn't have a pocket clip.

Oops, sorry on the spelling. I typically spell check in MS Word so my mistakes are usually comma splice errors. I’m in school though, so I’m still working the kinks out.

I’m to the point where I’m starting to get interested in nail-nick knives, but I may still trade my Kershaw Skyline for a Leek, and then just carry it unclipped.
