I propose we as a community let Docbart know we do not tolerate his behavior. We can do this by each sending him an e-mail with a simple message. "Do The Right Thing" Make it the subject and all mail on the same day, say 4-7-00. All those in favor say I.

Count me out. Harrassing someone via email isn`t "doing the right thing" and wouldn`t represent this forum in the best light. There has to be a more mature way to handle the Docbart problem.
 
Frank, yes he could eliminate his e-mail address if thats not to inconvenient. I am sure he uses it for other purposes. But that would also mean he has read this thread and received the message. A show of strong disaproval that is hard to ignor is the intent here. The greater the support the stronger the message.

Jackyl, I proposed 4-7 so people will have plenty of time to find the thread and show their support.

SteveB, I don't think that peer pressure to do the right thing is immature. Docbart has been immature in HIS actions and words. He said he would give the refund, which is due and just, only if the individual he wronged would stop telling about it. I respect your choice to opt out but I can only hope you never get stiffed because you trusted someone. Would you expect your community to support you if it did happen?
 
Call me silly, but I don't think that you will get anywhere with this. Emails that get deleted unread don't have any effect.

I firmly believe that what this "DocBart" fella did is and was inexcusable!

Harrassment and band wagon appeal isn't gonna fix the problem. Take a look at the threads that's been posted already. Those particular posts haven't forced "DocBart" to do squat! His posting rights have been taken ~ that hasn't forced "DocBart" to do squat!

Don't believe me? Ask the several folks who got taken! Ask most of the "Ka-nife Nuts" on this Forum and they'll tell ya....... "DocBart" is a POS!

I looked up "POS" in the dictionary this mornin' and it referred me to "DocBart."

All that bombarding "DocBart" (with e-mails) is going do ~ ~ ~ feed his already gloating ego!

But, the type of mentality in this thread is to say the least kinda frightening! What is being promoted and pimped here is called vigilantism my friends!

It's not what being a "ka-nife nut" stands for. It's not what makes this great country of ours free (and nor does "DocBarts behavior!)!!

There are "legal" recourses that can be taken by the few that got ripped off! Let them take the necessary actions to get their pound of flesh. It's called "justice" and it's legal.

What we need to do is unite and support the few who were taken advantage of in their fight to legally hammer our resident POS ("DocBart")!

I can hardly believe I have to defend this effort but here goes. Community-a body of people living in the same place under the same laws. This in a sense is what we are. A member has violated a core law. TRUST! And he has been unrepentant and without defense. He knows he has done wrong. This effort is meant to reinforce that the rest of the community also recognizes his transgressions. If that is viewed as vigilantism / punishment so be it. What are the wronged to do? Find out where Docbart lives and file in small claims court in his district? It's not worth the cost of fileing, travel, time off work etc. Unless GigOne wants to pay for it all in the name of "legal recourse." True the effort probably won't change Docbart's mind any more than the original Ugly threads. But thats not the point. The point is a show of support for right -v- wrong not harassment. Harass-1 exhaust, fatigue: 2 to worry and impede by repeated raids: 3 to annoy continually. My proposal is for a 1 time show of support for the wronged. As a community I think it's the least we can do. You can sit by and do nothing or you can take a stand.

So far there are 9 for and 2 against.
 
Guess what? Couldn't wait after GaryM's rousing speech on community and e-mailed Docbart's known e-address(karlene@tisdnet.com) and got it shot back at me as undeliverable. Docbart has left the building. At this point Jbravo and Tamashigiri should post his legal name (if any) so we can ostracize him from this community. He can change his e-address, his snail mail address, but its hard(er) but far from impossible to change your real (?)name. At this point I'd like to know about the known or suspected aliases he's been using on the forums now. I have a long memory.
At this point I can now agree with (was it?) Spark or Mike's disdain for freemail accounts. Spark or Mike, if you're listening...got a "I told you so" in here. I'm only worried about members like Keninshiro who doesn't have access to a regular ISP e-mail account. Perhaps, a rating system like Ebay uses should be implemented here (not foolproof either, though).

Thanks for the support. I have written off the money loss.
GaryM, thankyou in particular for your support, you obviously get the big picture as many of you do.
I will notify the other forums and make them as aware as I can. Doc's last emails threatened Slander/Liabel suit.

to meet the criteria for this action. Obviously in JBravo's case and mine it does not. Mr. Bart has said that we will get our money when he's ready and we quit posting.
Well, the money is'nt the issue. His word, integrity mean more than $250.00. In factr it's difficult to put a price on that.
GaryM is right, there is a violation of CORE values here and TRUST is the cornerstone.
If the refund decides to trickle in someday Cool, If not at least others will have knowledge and awareness of the possible exposure they are subjecting themselves too.
That is worth all that I have lost to me.

My hope is that Mr. Bart will grow from
this, never to do this to anyone again.
That would be MY real payoff !
