Does a knife with a g10 scale with no liner inside turn you away from buying a knife?

Let your heart not be troubled,Spyderco makes many liner less models without any problems what so ever. :)

Nope. One of my favorite knives for getting solid work done has plastic (grivory?) handles with no liners and no washers, the Cold Steel Tuff Lite. I have worked the hell out of those knives and the mostly-plastic construction has never given me pause.

I'm also fond of the plastic handguns Walther makes, though, so maybe I'm just very plastic-biased?

I'm in the minority in this thread but I won't buy a knife without liners on both sides. It's just a thing with me. I've seen too many plastics fail not just on knives but on just about anything made from it. Ski boots explode, fittings crack, dashboards crack, small drop of a Swiss Army knife caused a chunk to fly from the handle (I know they have liners just illustrating my point). I'm not saying plastic doesn't have its place and uses (I wouldn't want to ski in steel boots) but I'm just not a fan of having a plastic knife. Peace of mind is not worth the slight weight savings.

I have a William Henry with G10 scales and no liner that is the smoothest knife I own. There is no blade play in any direction, and seems rock solid.

I love William Henry knives but I'm not familiar with any all G10 handle offering from them. Do you have any pictures? I'd be interested to see it.

Liner-less G10 definitely saves on weight. I've owned several, and never had any mechanical/structural issue/failure.

Never gave it a second thought.......but I very rarely use my knives to pry up concrete. I cut stuff!
