Does anybody else have bald spots on their arms?

Bad mental image for 5 AM.

I've done it a time or two and never though much about it....

Then one day I was in a local knife shop and in walk two guys probably on pre-release or just out of hard time and they decided to shop. I was standing next to them at the counter trying to talk to the owner as, after politely asking for spit cups, these guys began talking non-stop like they'd been away from human contact for a while, in our faces, sort of demanding we engage in their base, earthy, loud conversations with them as they looked at folders and OTF's.

Every knife they were shown they shaved another patch of tattoo somewhere, hair falling to the display case or floor. This went on for a full hour.

It was one of those days where you felt as though you were with the wrong people in a knife shop. When they left the owner told me he was glad I'd been there.

I don't shave since then.

Lol 😁. I guess it's a normal disease for knifeaholics. I'll keep on shaving. With winter coming on, I'll start shaving my legs too!

I'm a southpaw, so my right arm is virtually always suffering from what I call "Knife Nut Mange" :)

I always do this too my left arm is at least half bald and every time I try to switch it up and even out the right arm I cut myself, just not precise enough with my left hand .

Ankles huh 😖 my ankles are so bony and veiny I'd probly cut myself if i tried that

I got a new blade for my Mini Barrage. Of course it was sharp and of course I tested it on my arm.

I couldn't wait more than a few days before I put it on my SharpMaker. More testing.

A few more days and I wanted to polish the edge so I used my extra extra fine DMT stone. Lots more testing.

I tested so much I ran out of arm hair. As I was reclined in my favorite chair, I thoght it would be a good idea to test on my belly hair. While it was fun at first, don't do it.

It's starting to grow back and it itches like crazy. The stubble snags in the inside of my shirt and it sounds like velco when I move. Plus it's not a good look scratching all the time.

Live and learn I guess.

I try not to give myself bald patches, plus I think paper gives a better indication of sharpness.

both of my arms are in various stages of hair growth.
I also use phone book paper.
I use everything. I love to sharpen and resharpen and sharpen and resharpen...ad nauseam...

I cracked up the other day...someone posted they had shaved their wife's leg hair because they had run out of hair to shave on themselves!

Haha. I always have paper and phone book paper nearby when I'm sharpening. After I get it very sharp to the point where it glides effortlessly through the phone paper, I sometimes try to cut my hair, but can't. There may be some very small imperfections in my sharpening, or it may have to do with me not stropping, I'm not sure. The furthest I go is the Spyderco Triangle fine stones. I'm planning on getting the ultra fine, not sure if it's worth it.

I went in for a knee surgery a few months ago. The nurses and doctors seemed more concerned about my bald left arm. Everyone that came in the room asked me why I shaved my left arm. My wife about died laughing.

My wife kicks her feet up and I'll do some testing on her stubble. Any time I see stubble I'll shave off a long patch of it forcing her to shave her legs that night. Needless to say, she has smooth legs every night she goes to bed. This keeps me testing sharpness every few days so I keep a maintained blade.

She doesn't mind. In fact, I think it turns her on a bit. :p

If she isn't around and I need to do some testing after a sharpen, I'll take off my watch and shave my wrist.
