I miss his titanium and 1095 neck knives. His knives were some of the best values in the knife world, especially the 40$ titanium 1/4" thick karambits.I bought a few from him on ebay about 8-9 yrs ago,he was slow with shipping once and I had to contact him thru the phone. He was very nice and sent the promised product. His site is down and his email bounces.I hope he is doing well.

He burnt several people on eBay, me being one of them. I got my cash back via PayPal and I surmise eBay kicked him off after more problems arose. He does talk purty and makes a lot of promises, but I wouldn't trust him any further than I can spit a rat.

I know this is an old thread, but I came across it by way of something else that I was looking for.

I am one of the daughters of Larry Ramey. He passed away in April 2008. He had become pretty sick starting around 2006/2007 and succumbed suddenly to his illness at the age of 49.

My sister and I tried to go through as many of his things as possible, including his emails and outstanding orders. We contacted eBay and Paypal, alerting them of his death and set about sending out the outstanding orders that were sitting in boxes at his house and refunding those orders that were not complete, out of our personal bank accounts. Buzwardo, I am sorry that you were caught in the crossfire of his untimely illness and passing and that you were not satisfied with the order you placed. We sent out all of the knives he had completed, even though we would have liked to have kept some for ourselves for sentimental reasons.

We tried to contact everyone and wished that the legacy he left was of him being a talented artisan, not someone who doesn't answer his email promptly.

Summer,

Your update, to this very old thread, really touched my heart...

My heartfelt condolences; in regard's to your father's passing, 7 long years ago. It's so tragic, that your dad passed away at such a young age. :(

It's nice of you to set the record straight, so that people will now know the answer/truth, as to why your father mysteriously disappeared from the knife world (especially amid these suspicions/accusations). I didn't know your father, Larry Ramey (this was before my interest in knives began)...may he be, RIP.

My condolences to your family.

I would imagine most of us had no idea of the passing of your father, hence the type of reply's that you see.

Thank you for letting us know so that everything is now in context.
