does anyone edc their blur?

I try my Best to Help out my Kershaw/ZT brothers and Sisters.....Its all for the love of knives!

And I love Certain Blurs... the SG10 and CF Blurs are awesome! The ones with grippy inserts and sharp studs eat my pants! And sometimes cut my hands when reaching of it in my pocket..

I smoothed the thumb studs on the one blur I carry (purple web) a bit with a small file and dremel. Makes it much more pocket and thumb friendly. The Aluminum web blurs actually are great edc knives as the web pattern offers ample traction while still allowing it to slide in and out of my pocket. Of course because the Zing or Spyderco Cat fit in the watch pocket on jeans they see most edc duty for me. (I work in an office so a smaller blade is more than sufficient)

I like my blur, and almost pulled the trigger on the cpm-154...But, the fact is, it needs jimping on the spine. One of the reasons why my blur is rarely used anymore.

I have a sterile polished black scale Blur that I swap out on occasion. Looks weird without anything on it.
Actually I have 2 but one has a black thumbstud.

They really aren't that large when compared to a zt or some of the kershaw line. I used to think that too. A good friend had an old skate tape blur, and I had a scallion. I always said it was too big, and now I have owned 5 or 6 of them and really like them. It is just thin enough to work for me. It is about the same size as a 0350, and if you carry it after carrying a 0561 or 0500 it feels like a leek!

Yeah I can see where you're coming from, but then again I don't own a single ZT because of the same reason and also coz I'm not that rich haha. I feel like they are too big for the tasks I use for cutting although I most definitely see a Blur in my future collection and a ZT0350.

I am with you there brother. The Blur is nice and thin but too long. I find even the 0560 is not a problem when I am standing up walking around, but when I sit down or bend over I get poked in the hip bone. That annoys me and is easily avoidable with knives that are less than 4" folded. And I am totally content with my smaller EDC.

If I had the need for a larger knife very often I guess I would carry one in a pouch/sheath on my belt.

Haha I agree I have a SOG Trident and I think it almost has the same blade length as the Blur and quite frankly I don;t use it much because of its size.

Sadly, I don't think I'm cool enough to carry a sheath for a larger knife due to my skinny frame :(

I've had a Blur in my drawer for about a year now, and at first I didn't dig it. Fun to sit around and play with, but it just wasn't doing anything for me. In the last month or so it's been seeing a lot more use around the house. It still hasn't worked into the edc rotation, but it's getting there. I actually picked up number two, a red blur, from Kershawguy on a whim, so that will be getting a little use soon, and who knows...

The Blur I have, the CF154, is now my favorite blade, bar none. I put away the bunch of knives I had in my computer desk drawer, except for two that I like to play with at home. I'm a lefty, so sometimes I'll tap the "front" handle for a lefty clip, but the Blur models weren't so friendly for that with the Trac-Tec inserts. I knew there were some rare variations with CF, but since the CF154 model came out, it called to me.

I've since put a lefty deep carry clip, and it is my favorite knife. The CF inserts allow a smooth travel in and out of my pocket. I don't need a ton of grip, I'd rather have a smooth handle. I haven't had the desire to carry or use anything else since I got it. From the usual "EDC" things to stripping wire at work, this thing is absolutely a dream. I love that it's flat ground instead of the standard hollow grind. CPM-154 has been a steel I loved on paper, and after using this thing, and putting a new edge on it, I love it even more. Much more than S30V for an EDC blade. Easy to sharpen, and holds a razor edge pretty well. I imagine that Kershaw aced the heat treat on this stuff.

Forgive the rambling, but this is really a favorite. :D

Without question, the Blur design needs to be updated to incorporate that Knockout style pocket clip in all 4 positions.

Amen. To me, the current clip allows too much of the knife to stick out of the pocket. Not a deal breaker, and I know that STR makes deep clips, but I second Mr. Fisher about the deep clip.

There is nothing wrong with the Blur, great knife in many ways. Somehow the ZTs keep ending up in my pockets....

I EDC'd my s60v Blur blem solid for 3 years. I still carry it some and it's the one I grab when I'm road tripping.
