Does anyone else have an intricate EDC system?

I put my pants on, then I put some stuff in my pants pockets, then I walk out the door.

Pretty complex task for me.

I always wear a vest with several pockets including zipped pockets. Light summer vest or lined or dressy. Into a zipped pocket goes either the Osbourne 940 or the Subrosa 790 (both of which have the clip removed) or the Boker Magnum Earl Damascus, along with the Preon 2 and other sundry EDC items.
Then my right front pants pocket gets the Manix 2 XL if its work time, or a random pick from several others. Funny how often the random pick is a Para2...

it would be nice to see more folks not just showing what their EDC is for the day but to show where and how and why they carry this and that. Ex Business Casual work day; left front pocket:______, right front pocket:______. I mean, what if I'm totally missing out on a great idea? (chuckle) I'm sure that what makes total sense for one person may seem ridiculous to someone else; But, when enough "this is what I do" ideas are out there I'm sure 1 or 2 will resonate with any forum member out there. For example, you shared about a thin and thick blade for different cutting tasks- I never thought of that.

We could do a better job at learning from each other (speaking of knives I mean; I know there is another forum out there devoted to EDC, lol)
Ive thought of this before and have elaborated on a few edc posts i believe. I will try and snap a picture or my edc tomorrow morning with my work stuff with it. I typically carry 3 blades, a edc locking blade for whatever then i will have a thinner blade for slicing and similar stuff and that is almost always a Victorinox of some sort. My third blade is a cheap beater knife for abuse purposes only. Currently it is a crkt 16 tanto. That gets put in my right rear beside my wallet clipped in place the other two reside in my right front flashlight gets clipped left front. Leatherman squirt is dropped in right front as well. Keys amd keychain sort of stuff go in left rear and anything else will find a home in one of my cargo pockets.

I normally have a hand full to choose from like the op has but lately i fell in love with my mini ritter grip again amd its become a pocket hog. Normally its been a para 2 kershaw chill several sanrenmu's custom 550 grip with my forum name on it, and when im feeling different ill throw in one of my few neck knives.

Excuse any terrible grammar/spelling errors too im on my phone and it freaks out when i post here and doesnt let me read what im typing and my full touch screen is just short of completely useless anymore.

It totally depends on what I am doing or what I'm wearing as to exactly where my knives go. On a normal work day, SOG triden clipped on front right pocket, SAK in left pocket, on kershaw tremor is left cargo pocket clipped. If not working, the tremor goes into the right pocket clipped, I carry a fixed blade crossdraw on the left sideIWB, and the SAK somewhere else.

Every once in a while this varies.

Spyderco Military in left hand pocket. Spydero Techno in right hand pocket. SAK Tinkerer rinding loose in left hand pocket.

P.S. I think the Military (long, lean, slicer heaven) and the Techno (short, built like a brick sh$t house, thick edge) are the perfect dream team. These are all the knives I would need for the rest of my life.

90 percent of the time when I'm not at work I have my tsf beast folder on me. I also carry either the dragonfly 2 zdp-1, tenacious, ukpk, or my Marc mummert SPUNK neck knife.

At work I always carry my SPUNK and tenacious or ukpk. I would carry my dragonfly but the zdp-189 steel loves to rust when I bring it to work.

pretty complicated.

I have my knife in my jeans all day. at night I throw them on the ground. the next day I put them back on...

Mine setup is truly edc. Sebenza in front right pocket, zippo in coin pocket if present. If not then it goes in my right rear. My wallet & fenix ld12 in left front. My saddleback messenger carries everything else and as long as I'm not out running or working out that's on me or at my feet as well. Since I got the sebenza, its never been more than a foot away from me. I have other knives, but now I never carry them. Used to carry a sak as a multitool but the lady grabbed it. I'll prolly buy a leatherman to replace it, and stick that in the bag as well. For the moment, 90% of my needs are covered with this setup. Going to have to get a cheap cutting tool to loan out though, have had to refuse a co-worker a few times when asked for a knife. You should see the looks I get when I tell them how much that sebenza is worth! Seriously, its worth more than most guys's sidearms lol.

Leatherman on the belt, cell phonein left front pocket, wallet in back right pocket, G-Shock on right wrist, and a dagger in my boot if I am wearing boots.

I just carry a folder of some sort, and what I carry depends on my mood. For regular days(work or casual) it might be a Tenacious, might be a Native, might be a Blur, might be a budget Kershaw, might be something else. If I'm going on a date, I might carry something like the Kershaw Crown or Leek, as they look more like a gentleman's folder and not as "scary" as some knives. If on the off chance I was going somewhere that I didn't feel real secure, I might go with something like a Cold Steel Spartan or XL Voyager. Occasionally, I'll carry something by request...I post pics of my new acquisitions online, and occasionally a friend will want to see one of my knives in person, so if I'm going somewhere they'll be, I might carry what they were wanting to see(I recently carried a Cold Steel Ti-Lite 4'' at work because a coworker saw pics and wanted to see what it was like in hand).

I also have a little no-name multitool with a small knife that I carry with my keys, and I also usually carry a Kabar TDI Last Ditch knife in my shirt pocket. Not for use as a weapon, but it makes a great letter opener, and is good for cutting packaging tape and such...and being carried in my shirt pocket, I can easily access it with my left hand if my right hand is full and I find I need to cut something.

As of right now I keep a spyderco spydercard in my wallet that goes everywhere. If I'm going to work I drop a Kershaw Oso Sweet in my pocket because the hem of the pocket on my work pants is unusually thick and a lot of my pocket clips don't work too well with them. And I keep a leatherman PST II on my vest at work.

If I'm off work I usually wear carpenter's jeans and I carry a leatherman sidekick in the little extra pocket that's low on my right (dominate) leg. In my right pocket goes my blade for the day. Used to be a CRKT ringed razel but lately it's my ZT 0350. The other day I had to crawl under my truck so I clipped on my kershaw clash so the ZT0350 wouldn't get scratched up. In my left pocket goes my cell phone and my keys are on a 'biner so I can clip them to a belt loop.

Some adjustments will get made when I get my CC permit. County sheriff is way behind on applications. When I was up in Oregon and had a valid CC permit I preferred to carry a glock 17 and a g26 and two 17 mags. Sometimes it would be the 26 and a ruger lcp. The glock 17 is a bit on the large side so I'm planning on getting a g19 when funds allow.

I also wanted to put together a small EDC survival kit that would fit in my left back pocket but when I got it done it was just a bit large. I'll probably start carrying a messenger bag if I'm going to be out of the house for long periods with first-aid items and some other wilderness and urban survival items.

Each April I get a new knife, then I carry that same knife each day for a year. Repeat.

This is what works best for me.

Andrew

I like medium/large folders, just one, always right front pocket carry. A PM2 is the standard, (especially in scrubs) as I just feel more at ease with something that can handle just about anything I would come across, a BM 556 is about the smallest I will go.

Wish I could post pics instead of just words...but here's my gig:

Daily EDC (office, M-F)...Spyderco Dragonfly 2 FRN VG-10. (My grail knife :p). Or Kershaw OD-2.
Weekend (2nd job, warehouse)...Spyderco Ambitious or CRKT Drifter (beater blades)
Dress knife... Spyderco Chaparral CF or Al-Mar Hawk Ultralight.
Casual outings (Park, zoo, beach, walks, etc.)...Spyderco Centofante 3 or Delica 4.

My edc for the day comes from a group of about 8 knives that varies from time to time. My choice for the day depends on my anticipated use more than my clothes. I can easily carry most of my knives in any of my clothes.

Just gonna point out at this time that this thread is almost a year old.

I switch it up 2-6 times a day just because it makes me feel good. No rhyme or reason.

I try not to let myself switch knives during the middle of the day or I'd be doing it all day long, the only time I do is if I'm going to do some sort of different job I didn't plan on and need a specific knife.

My EDC is my CF Sebenza, every single day and night, the only exception is if I'm doing something I might loose it. Then depending on what pants I'm wearing I'll choose either one or two more knives. I have a knife for SD in my left rear and it's always waved, mostly my BM 710 but I've got a few others to choose from. My 3rd knife is if I'm wearing pants with a carpenters pocket, I'll often pick a heavy duty work knife to carry there. That's usually a choice between my GB or my utilitac, a Byrd Hawkbill or even my Rat-1.

I do have some other knives I rotate my Sebenza out for but very rarely, a mini-grip, a ESEE zancudo, my G10/S30V UKPK, even my kabar dozier.

One other thing, every knife I have is setup for tip-up right side, it works for every pocket I carry in, even the outside of my rear left pocket.

I'm down to dig up an old one! It's not old for meeeee lol.

Leathean rebar goes with me anywhere, if I wear a belt (90% of the time I'm out) it's in its leather sheath on my right. ZT 500 series has been holding my right front down, and a less expensive beater for the back right, as my line of work can be seriously abusive on tools. This is where the most variety comes in. My grip or 0566 is usually there, but other come out to play some days.

In my left front goes stream light stylus pro, bullet fisher space pen, and my trublu e-cig (soon to be ousted) modified with a bullet pen clip. My phone has it's life proof holster on the left, but many times I put my phone in LF and edc all the small stuff in a Max Micro along w my ID and spare cash...my wallet has found a permanent home in my pack quite some time ago lol.
