  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Does anyone else have an intricate EDC system?

I have a draw of knives that I choose from at the moment and many times I have one of two knives that have been carried recently lying around maybe on my desk and that may be a knife that I have been carrying a lot lately.

Don't know if you would term it intricate, but it is consistent. When I leave my house these are the edc items that go with me. In my shirt pocket I carry a G2 Limited pen, and a Preon 1 flashlight. On my belt I have a Fenix PD22 in it's included sheath, a single CR123A flashlight. I wear a fannypack daily as it makes it easier on me to be able to carry all the things I need to carry daily. It contains my Spyderco Szabo in the lower pouch, along with my wallet. The upper pouch carries the meds I need daily, along with a Leatherman Juice S2. In my right front pocket I carry a large folder, a heavily built folder if you will, that gets switched out as often as I like. Since December it was the Fox/Citadel Deimos (micarta scales), sometime in mid January it was my Boker Arctos XL, and for the past two weeks it has been my Kizer Gingrich GTi.

Everyday this is how I leave the house, oh, I also have my Phone in a flap case clipped on my belt. But as sure as I put on clothes, everything listed above is in there.:)

I read where people sell their knives because "they don't get pocket time". I want mine to be carried, at least the ones in my EDC rotation. Periodically I lay them all out on the table, arrange them in a somewhat random order but where there is some variety from one knife to the next, and that is the order in which I carry them. I finally found a plastic tackle box that holds all of the EDC knives as well as a few others, and I put them in the slots in their carry order. Each Monday morning I pick the next one out of the box, put it in my pocket, and carry it for the week. Saturdays and Sundays I usually carry a different knife, not one in the EDC rotation. With my system I don't have to ponder which knife to carry on any given weekday, and all of the knives in my EDC rotation get carried equally. I use this same system for my watches and that is where I came up with the idea. I have more knives than I have watches, I could change my knife rotation system to carry each knife 2 or 3 days instead of 5 days so I could make it all the way through the rotation faster.

As for knives.
one of these
I really like the Yojimbo2 for it PD role
but the thin tip has limitations in everyday use
that Im not ready to find out how far I can push it.

Unlike the Griptilian and tenacious.

Work- any flipper
Casual- sebenza/mnandi
Outdoor- karahawk or matriarch 2 (both waved)

I'm with HwangJino on the Matriach 2. Do you live in CA? I would go for full Civilian if it wasn't so much longer than the Matriarch.

Formal Days (Office): Douk Douk Carbon 160mm (It's very thin, non-threatening, and light plus no clip.) in front right, and Matriarch 2 w Emerson Open left front. Also an Opinel Carbone 8/10 in the bag/car.
Casual/Jeans appropriate days: Douk Douk (medium) front right, Tenacious back right, PM2 or Millie 1 FRN in front left, Boker Plus Gnome or Vox Rhino in duffel bag, Dragonfly ZDP on keys.
Fishing: Benchmade Osbourne front right, Dragonfly H-1 on keys, and a Lionsteel SR-1 in the backpack. All classics.
