Does anyone have experience with Deuter?

Well, went to the store on Saturday and came home with the Deuter Futura Pro 42 . I wasn't supposed to buy any new gear until the end of the month, but the flesh is weak and since the Supreme Executive Commander was with me and she liked the backpack, what the hey :p. I didn't even get bothered by her snickering at me all the way to the car because I came out of the store carrying my brand new backpack (with tags and all) on my back :D.

I haven't had time to use it yet, but I packed it full of stuff and at least around the house the thing is C-O-M-F-O-R-T-A-B-L-E. I honestly think this is the most comfortable pack I ever wore, and it also seems to be very cool because of the "Aircomfort" feature - the rear of the pack is arched, so it doesn't get in contact with your back and permits air to flow between your back and the pack.

I think I hit a home run with the pack .

I will, I will .
It's been raining here ever since Saturday, so as soon as the weather gets better I'll make some pics.

Glanced at these briefly at Alabama Outdoors Saturday, but didn't have time to really look. Hadn't paid attention to them before reading this thread. I'd already decided on an Osprey Aether 70 for my next pack, but will give the Deuters a more thorough going over next time I'm in there. From what I saw, they looked really nice.
Thanks for giving me an excuse to do more shopping:rolleyes:

That sure is interesting! As I said above, my kid is now too big for a backpack, but one or two years ago this definitively would have been cool to have. And one thing that I'm noticing, like everyone here is saying, Deuter seems to make a heck of a product!

That was a borrowed pack that I now need to give back and I'm having another kid so I get to go buy one!!!! I love shopping for new packs.

What?! You were supposed to do that IN the store. What if it wasn't comfortable when you got home, then you'd be stuck with it...

Glad you like it though! They are great packs.

The model on display at the store was full, but not exactly heavy, so I knew it would comfortable. At home I packed it HEAVY, and walked around with it on my back for a half hour or so (for the amusing pleasure of my wife :p), and then I saw how really comfortable it is.

This is a great feature -- an absolute life saver in hot weather. I've got two Gregory packs designed this way, and I really hate going back to a conventional design if it's even a little bit warm.

Enjoy your pack!
