Does anyone have only one knife?

If so, what is it? Why? And if you want to give a little bit of your knife philosophy that would be cool.

I'm feeling very minimalist these days, and often debate on whether or not I need or want more than a single knife.

NAND even if you have more than one, feel free to chime in with your thoughts.

Thanks.

I only have one knife on me ATM, does that count? :p

If I only had one knife for absolutely everything, I reckon I'd choose a small fixed blade like a JK EDC or something similar.

I'm a minimalist in most facets of my life(I can fit everything I own into the trunk of a car), and even I own more than one knife :D

But lords knows I've been trying to find the "perfect" edc. The Sebenza came close! Maybe an XM-18 will remedy that...

I have only one knife for certain things...one chef's knife, one bread knife, and so on.

Pocket knives and fixed blades it's good to have different sizes, shapes, etc. Overlap is more about being a collector.

I have one knife in my pocket, one on a belt pouch . Each for different uses

HAHAHAHAH. ONE? lol. no. that is just no... :D

One knife only would be some multitool with a saw/pliers/blade. SAK or Leatherman..

If JUST a knife, fixed: Maybe RS

folder: still trying to find that ONE :)

My collection fits into a single storage room. :)

Talk about minimalism, I haven't bought any knives today yet. :D

But seriously,
and often debate on whether or not I need or want more than a single knife.
Most people, especially myself, don't need any more than a single knife. Heck, most people get through their days without using any knife outside of the kitchen.

My point, I happen to like knives, so I have lots of them. If you don't like knives or don't get enjoyment from owning them, then pick out a nice knife, take care of it, and use it until it's worn out.

Shesshh, the title of this thread alone brought me out in a cold sweat.

Would admitting to having only one knife on this forum be grounds for being banned?

Come on guys, the question is good if unrealistic on this forum. If I could not own but one knife, I would like it to be as good as possible. I think it would be a fixed blade, about 5 inch blade, a drop point. Overbuilt to take a beating, flat ground to take a good edge.

I have more than one on me at all times, so that would be a no. Besides, I don't think one is feasible for anyone who likes knives that likes to hike. A fixed is mandatory in the woods with me. And I EDC a fixed around everywhere with me anyway(99% of the time), as well as a folder.

I survived the demanding urban world with just 1 G10 Kershaw Leek for about 6 months. Then I started buying more and more. At first, one knife every 3 months or so, now it's more like every month.

It's not about being able to get by with just one, but enjoying different knives for different things.

There was a point where I had to sell off everything but one my ESEE 3 mil. I could live the rest of my life having that as my only knife but whats the fun in that.

The only time in my life that I had only 1 knife was when I was 6 or 7 years old. It was my 1st knife and my father bought it for me when we were on vacation in the Poconos.
I used it mostly for whittling ( from what I remember), it was a fixed blade knife with a 1 1/2 or 2" blade, in a leather belt sheath.
It was probably the gateway.
