So, I was at my local Wal-Mart yesterday picking up a few things, and I decided to stop by sporting goods to see if they finally had any new Enduras in. Well, I didn't walk away with an Endura, but I did walk away with a Gerber Icon and an Evo. I've only owned one Gerber before now, and needless to say, it was a piece of crap. I have no idea why I asked the guy to see these, but I'm glad I did. They seem pretty good for budget blades. Lock up is solid, ergonomics are good, and they're actually pretty damn sharp. The boxes didn't specify what kind of steel the blades are, but I'm guessing something like 440 a, or maybe some 8cr. Also, I find it amusing that they, umm, "borrowed" the Evo's design from CRKT.
Anyway, the entire point is... does anyone like Gerber? They're certainly not a great company, but surely somebody's found a nice little blade or two?
