Does anyone only use/collect one make of Knife?

For 40+ years I only owned, collected and carried Buck. The Buck 303 to be exact. Ive owned more then 200 of them over the years and actually had more then 100 in my collection at one point. 2 years ago I sold/gave way my collection, bought a CRK Mnandi and now its all I carry. I occasionally buy a new knife that catches my eye but invariably I sell it at a loss and go back to the Mnandi.

At this point in time, my collection skews heavily towards GEC and Victorinox, with probably 30% or so modern knives of various brands and makers. At various points in the past, it's been ZT, Emerson, Olamic, CRK, a few others. These days, I couldn't imagine only owning knives from one company, because there are too many excellent knives out there.

Collect one only? No, but use is a different story. My collection is probably modest to most on here - around 50 or so knives.

I have a small stockpile of Spyderco and ZT with some other seldom used carried pieces. Actually pocketed and used: CRK first and foremost, Medford and Protech after that.

I don't really collect to collect; I use just about all of them.

Uniqueness is key to me. I like varied styles and colors, handle materials.

Spyderco is what I have the most of:

7 Spyderco's (though my mother has confiscated the Yojimbo 2 while she is recovering from surgery, it is an excellent pill cutter)
Customized PM2
Customized Manix 2 sprint
PM3 lw Spy 27
Customized Yojimbo 2
Customized Southard
Gayle Bradley 1
Domino

However, I own a bunch of other brands, often only one of that brand.

YES, now I do. Only one brand ..BUCK….and a few models.. I was all over the place, collected traditional pocket slip joints knives, scout pocket knives, fixed blade tactical knives, edc folders, assisted knives….SOLD many and selling the rest…and going OLD SCHOOL ……now I am only collecting BUCK 110 and 112 folders…
Much happier. I am 68 years old….had my first Buck 110 when I was 17 years old deer hunting. I am returning to my roots. Old is now new to me and glad I made the switch.

I personally just buy what I dig. I'm also not much of a "completist" when it comes to collecting within brands, but rather enjoy researching and choosing ideal examples for my wants and (perceived ;) ) needs from within a line of knives.

Folders: I like Spyderco the best for performance and user friendliness (specific models in particular for the latter, Tenacious and Resilience particularly, and always modded to my liking of course). I do own others, but other than Cold Steel, I don't really go out of my way for other brands of knives, and if I get them it is by accident/happenstance.

Fixed blades: Well aside from a cheap set of kitchen knives I own (I may eventually replace with something I made if I can ever justify the cost), I'm always carrying a necker and a fixed blade that I have made. Been carrying the same necker for most of the year, and have moved into a new large EDC slicer, which I am not ready to show off just yet. But I have a DEK1 coming as a trade soon, which I will use to hopefully gain some insight and inspiration as I progress in my craftsmanship journey.
