Does anyone only use/collect one make of Knife?

For fixed blades, save the K-Bar I used when I served, I’m all Fiddleback Forge.

I’m pretty hot on SAKs at the moment for folders, but have three CRKs and half a dozen GECs (my favorite to use) as well.

I've owned and used knives my whole life. When I was younger it was mostly cheaper ones from big 5 or walmart, but when I got my first Benchmade a couple years ago it was all downhill (uphill?) from there. Started buying every one I liked and had about 10 at one point, but quickly realized there were more attractive options for me out there that couldn't be had with one brand based on undue loyalty. Now the only brand I have more than one knife in currently is CRK. Too much variability and options to just choose one brand.

Locks and mechanisms are my jam which has lead me down some.......interesting roads. Collection ranges from customs to CRKT. Even bought knives from semi-questionable companies (Mantis Gearhead) since it came out of the mad scientist minds of the Hawks.

I have a few, Case and other brands that I’ve aquired over the years but for the last ten years or so I’ve settled on Buck . My edc and using knives are Buck. The heat treatment, tempering, design, stainless and materials used is tops. Simply put they do the job and keep an edge for a long time and that’s the main purpose for a knife and they take a lot of rough use . I have no need for anything else, they fit my style and usage at a very decent price. I’m just not gonna spend several hundred dollars for a knife that doesn’t work any better than the Buck knives I have. Pretty and fit and finish doesn’t make a knife perform better or last longer, I prefer simple and functional and tops in warranty.

Used to moly collect CRK but I’ve evolved into many higher end knives and some customs.

I own more Bucks and Case knives than anything. I know a lot of folks that primarily collect those two brands but nobody that doesn't own knives of other brands as well.

Folders: I like Spyderco the best for performance and user friendliness (specific models in particular for the latter, Tenacious and Resilience particularly, and always modded to my liking of course). I do own others, but other than Cold Steel, I don't really go out of my way for other brands of knives, and if I get them it is by accident/happenstance.

Fixed blades: Well aside from a cheap set of kitchen knives I own (I may eventually replace with something I made if I can ever justify the cost), I'm always carrying a necker and a fixed blade that I have made. Been carrying the same necker for most of the year, and have moved into a new large EDC slicer, which I am not ready to show off just yet. But I have a DEK1 coming as a trade soon, which I will use to hopefully gain some insight and inspiration as I progress in my craftsmanship journey.
Ya know how long it was before I had and carried one of my own damascus knives????? Just do it!

I'm almost there, very close. I pretty much buy what I like, and I used to have a collection of BM, Kershaw and ZT, or rather a group that I carried. Then I started buying Spyderco and my EDC selection is all Spyderco except for one remaining BM. But knife enthusiasts are fickle and I will branch out and try some other brands.

As for collecting, I buy what I like and I have knives from a lot of makers. I did somewhat collect Dozer fixed blades and I have more of them than from any other maker.

I lean heavily towards Buck, but have many different brands and models as well.

there's a few Buck collectors who thats all they collect. I saw Les here posted already. there's another one I know of thats all he collects and has....

I've got more Schrade: than anything else...
But I was fortunate enough to inherit most of them from a fella who retired in 2004: the year they closed up shop
After them: it's Benchmade and Spyderco...

I really like comparing knives designs and philosophy so for me it makes more sense to collect knives from different companies
The brands I own the most are Spyderco, Emerson, Hinderer and CRK

I have a friend that is also a knife collector and he focus on Hinderer designs (Hinderer and ZT). I really like his approach too.
