Does Anyone Who Uses A Cane/Staff To Get Around Have Trouble With LE ?

Do you prefer the ball head? I'm still thinking about a higher end cane and choosing to have it available. I can see the utility of using one with the ball head, but I'm still on the fence choosing.
I like the ball for walking, very comfortable, but there's times when some version of a hook is more handy, when you need both hands i.e. in the restroom, washing hands...
I'm probably going to order another one with a Derby handle.
Here is a link to where I got the one I'm using now, they have a pretty large selection:

This is very true, my wife got one in her hand and it's done more harm than good. The muscle is finally starting to rebuild where she got the shot almost a year later.
Yes, I would not knowingly accept a cortisone injection-- nor have I-- too risky for my lifestyle. (If I were unconscious, I suppose they could have their way with me.)

I hope she makes a full recovery and then some.

I think the videos are entertaining.

Stop shaming the guy and let him do his thang

The videos are sad sack, and he's a Paul Blart Mall Cop twirling a staff he's trying to justify with frigging plantar frigging facilitis. He needs to be shamed. As much as he obviously loves his phalic toys, he hasn't even bothered to get any MA training on how to use a stick. Any recruit out of boot camp will take him like Grant took Vicksburg, with basic pugil stick techniques. I hate to this of what those elderly Asian gentlemen in D.C.'s China town would do to him with those rattan canes they carry.

He needs to be ashamed so he can grow up.

Fashionable Canes has a great selection. I can't remember if I actually got anything from them but they have a wealth of information on their website.

I prefer the hook or the derby handle to the ball; the ball just made the cane feel unsteady to me while walking. I think it was because I felt like you had to have the ball head directly beneath my arm. If I need to go back to a cane, I'll try the ball again. I also feel that for OP's situation that a ball looks more like a weapon than a hook or especially a derby.

As noted above the hook is "handy" when you need to hang it on something.

Not to pile on OP, but that video has wrong info. The white wax wood staffs are not the same as Okinawan bo staffs but are Chinese staffs. The actual skill set in using white wax wood staffs in Chinese martial arts staff sparring/fighting differ 180 degrees from the twirly movements with the Bruce Lee catcalls in the video.

As far as the original question, I still sometimes carry my Blackswift Raptor walking stick when I go for neighborhood walks, but not when I’m out and about, such as going to work or to the store, etc. That said, I have never been stopped or questioned by a cop. And I’ve walked right past parked police cars on my walks a number of times, or had cops drive past on other business, without any issues. The most that has happened, if they noticed me at all, was a friendly nod. And although I’m 56 years old, many people assume I’m in my late 30s or early 40s at most. I’m also still in good shape. Unless it’s a bad day for my hip (which it usually isn’t), I’m not even limping when I’m carrying my walking stick. So if being stopped and questioned by LEOs is a recurring theme, OP, then as others have said, there must be something about YOU, some look or vibe you’re giving off to draw such attention to yourself.

No, that’s not me in the photo and that part of my collection is no longer “displayed in house.”
