Does anything sell faster than a Carothers on the Forum?

Alright, I’m not familiar with the Carothers situation. Seems to me like they are immediately gone anytime someone posts one for sale and I mean IMMEDIATELY!!! They look like great fixed blades….what sets them apart from others and have what seems like a tremendous following? I definitely want to get my hands on one!!!

They are like Crack. Best bet is either a pre-order or post on the subforum buy/sell thread. Occasionally one comes up on their website. Trying to score one on the Friday sales thread is mostly an exercise in frustration. Actually not that hard to pick up on the buy/sell thread you just have to be persistent. The fit and finish are outstanding especially considering Nathan's demur 'these are field grade knives' stick. The grinds are beautiful, scales are well thought out. These would sell if they were made out of pig iron. Once you throw in the excellent heat treat on the 3V it's a no brainer.

Damn... you had to say all of this, and now I want one too!

Clearly it's NinJo ...

...although that Nathan guy is a pretty cool cat too.

Delta 3V. It's 3V...only better.

Umm, Gee Yee See s ?

Especially ones at a "reasonable" markup?
Yes, a GEC at a reasonable price goes quicker but CPKs go quick too. CPKs are worth the effort and price.

CPK to me is a near-perfect balance. They're available often enough and priced well enough that I can afford to get them and enjoy chasing them. We get a couple new models per year, you can preorder, and then six months or a year later long after you've gotten over how much money you spent, a knife shows up at your doorstep!

My other couple favorite makers put out a lot less product for generally more money.

I can relate to the frustration being a bit late to the sale. But persistence pays off. I got into them in August and have been able to aquire quite a few at very reasonable prices. I’ve purchased from many makers and CPK is one of the only ones that leaves nothing to be desired once its in hand. That would be the Behemoth. Big one is a K18 and smaller is a 6” utility fighter.

Here is a pic of some of the more recent offerings side by side. Good luck with the hunt 👍
