Does Busse do this on purpose?

It's hard to judge by the picture because of the lighting to one side... but I'm guessing you're talking about how the edge grind is uneven?

If so, that is not intentional. It seems to be a common thing amongst recently sold SAR3's, and Jerry is aware of the problem and making steps to fix it.

If you send the knife back to Busse, they will make it right. I sent mine back just last week.

posted in *sar3 problems-solved* thread --"Heavy Mil. orders have put some new guys on the sharpening line. . . Some serious "Not-so-great-edges" have gone out the door when they shouldn't have.

We are dropping the hammer on this issue and should have it worked out.

Thanks for your patience and thanks for giving us the opportunity to make it right!

We'll start drinking earlier in the day. That should get rid of those darned DTs. . . It's hard to sharpen when you're trembling like an 8 inch thick jello shot!

Thanks!

Jerry "

*major props for a head of company to admit and address problem so quickly

I sent the first one in because of a similar problem.

This is the one I got back.

Erik,

I am confused:confused: You sent a SAR 3 in and Jerry Busse made you a NEW ONE and Jerry Busse checked it:):)

I guess I am confused

I'm a bit confused, myself. After taking the pic of your SAR3 through my image processing software to lighten it up, I'm looking at a symmetrical grind. What exactly is the issue with this one?

THANK YOU JAXX:thumbup:

He sent it in...we made him a new one (BY JERRY) and Jerry Busse himself inspected it gave the shipping crew the OK to send it out:)

When I looked at it earlier there was a pic of a HRLM and he was comparing the "points" of the blades not the grind .... the point on this one looks like it has not been "V" ground at the tip compared to the HRLM pic he had up .... but the lighting is as people have said hard to give a clear picture .... but that is what I think he was getting at ....

It is hard to judge these things when the camera is on a macro setting ....

Try this copy... And that tip looks like it's been used to cut...something.

I am sorry that I took a holiday off....wanted to spend some time with the family.

Thank you so much for your concern...:)

I think I am gonna take my Mom and Dad's advice...LIFE IS SHORT:)
and live it:thumbup: ...I forgot to add this...My Dad is very sick...so if you read my threads you will understand

and My Dad is telling me to get the heck of the computer...it can wait till I get back....(He said some bad words but heck.. He is right)

All of my best,

Well the extra light does show a mark of some kind at the tip Jaxx .... but the tip does still to me at least look like the "V" shape is what he was getting at .... but we had these things in macro with Noz2002 ??? with edge damage on a Gamewarden and when seen in normal focus for the full blade you could see the grind was way thin from being sharpened without lifting the tip .... if you can remember those pic's ???? Macro gives a pretty "altered" perspective .... compared to normal focus ....

A normal pic of the blade in full focus might help ....
