Does having two different handle scales bug anyone else?

I am with you OP! That's why if I get a frame lock knife it has to be same material on both sides. I'm an engineer and symmetry matters to me. This is why I'm ok with liner locks, back locks and things like that. It's OK to like what you like.

Yep, bugs the heck out of me. To me the knife is half finished. I have passed on dozens of Protechs for this reason alone. Both sides should look similar.
Almost as bad as selling a used knife for retail and calling it apocalyptic, but that’s a whole other topic

I hate it when the lock side doesn't match the show side, and usually have a Ti show side made to match. It would have to be a very special knife for me to carry if it didn't have matching sides, and I only have one knife like that.

Also, different thicknesses between the lock side and the show side annoys me. That's just a lack of attention to detail on the maker's part.

Not really. I have my eye on a We Knives Espirit by Ray Laconico. Don't have the funds right now to justify the purchase but the show side features a shred carbon fiber scale and the other side is the Ti frame lock. I actually think that the mis matched scales when it comes to a Ti Frame lock can be pretty attractive.
