Does the Benchmade Griptilian always have bladeplay?

I have had quite a few Benchmade knives over the years. Never experienced vertical play or horizontal play any any them. I know there will always be some that have problems, after all it is a production product. Then who knows may be the Benchmade bashers are at it again.

These are the Griptilian knives I have on hand with another on the way in the mail - hope to have it tomorrow. A couple had a small amount of blade play but as others have said; an adjustment of the pivot screw backed up with some Lock Tite has solved the problem.

Now this is a high level Necromancer, I don't think I am ready to fight this one, he has a fully upgraded book of spells, and the most expensive robes you can buy.

I'm not Benchmade "basher", my friend, because I love my Benchmade Bugout. I'm just telling it like it is about the 2 Mini grips I've owned.

Blade play is very subjective. If you hold the very tip of the blade and wiggle side to side or up and down with all your might, most knives (though not all) will exhibit slight movement. Some will take more or less force to move. This is not really play as you using the blade as a lever to force movement somewhere in the lock/pivot assembly. If you grab the tip and LIGHTLY wiggle up and down or side to side and there is movement then that’s what I’d call blade play. Again, firm vs light force is going to be very subjective depending on the individual. Personally, I will sacrifice drop shut action to have a completely blade play free lockup.
