Does the spyderco delica have any competition?

I pick the endura every time if I'm buying a seki blade, but I guess that's not really competition

If someone's needs are normal light duty edc tasks, I don't see why Buck's lightweight 20$ models like the bantam and bucklite max couldn't complete.
I'm sure the delica has a fancier steel , but they're all pocket friendly lightweight one handed lockbacks in a decent steel.

Probably not what you're looking for, but the delica is just a knife so every other folder is competition.
True, but he could try a vantage pro 342 with bos s30v("in our opinion, the best knife steel available") for $50

Kershaw Fraxion - Great way to try out a small manual flipper
Esee Zancudo - D2, Framelock, Cheaper than a Delica
Cold Steel Khan - Same size, Blue G-10 handles, Tanto Blade, Triad Lock
Buck Vantage Pro Small - Better steel, S30V, Cheaper than a Delica
Bokar Plus Lancer - Titanium linerlock, Highly Stylized
Kizer vanguard series, several options available in same steel as Delica
Delica Wharncliffe
Boker Patriot - Similar materials, USA made, Thumbstud
Spyderco Centofante 3 - Thinner, hollow ground blade for insane(Seriously!) slicing, different looks

Last time I downsized my collection the delica was the only modern knife I kept.
If I was you I would just get another. It is an all round excellent working knife.

For 18.00 more, the lw Native 5 is a great option with better steel than the vg10.

i know this doesn't answer your question exactly how you requested, but i agree with this one. If i ever need to recommend a user to non-knife people, my answer based on budget is Rat, Delica, native 5.

for myself, a well built VG-10 at $60 is great, but S35VN is a pretty big step up for $20 more. S35VN used to be a "super steel", and now i can beat it up
