Recommendation? Does this exist?

BP there'll be some of these coming up in about a month or so. Had a bit of a delay due to coronavirus closures but things are slowly coming together. Same 3 3/8" length, slightly different blade shape (the back's a bit longer), cpm 154 steel:

Where do I sign up?!? What will the handle options be? I love my Canal Street Co-op Boy's knife and will grab one of these in a heartbeat!

This one will have a half stop though, tried to keep it true to the similar old patterns it's based on.

Gotcha. I think I’m a rare bird that just can’t do half stops. I still may check this one out. It looks like it’s shaping up to be a sweet knife

I like that blade shape a lot!

Why is there a notch cut out of the back spring near the butt end?

Joshua the butt pin sits in the notch. It serves the same purpose as a hole but gives a little more clearance for the blade. This is pretty much a necessity with a sheepfoot blade, which I intend to make for this knife in the future.

Hi Eric - Just wondering about those Albers Cut Co knives. Looks interesting. How do I learn more about this and the future release times?

Bill, right now I'm not sure how I'm going to do the sales aspect of it. I've pretty much been concentrating on getting these things up to the point of heat treat so that I'll have a couple of weeks to really concentrate on it. I may just do a website so that I can have everything centrally located rather than have accounts and stores all over the place. Another thing is waiting lists. Right now I'm kind of shying away from it since my production schedule (just me) doesn't allow for making large batches all at once. It's more along the lines of semi-custom as I'll likely only be able to do roughly 15-20 knives a week. I'm not sure yet if I'm going to put them up in those amounts weekly or amass 50 or so before I put them up. The problem with that scenario though is I have bills to pay, so weekly would definitely be better for me. I may just give everyone a heads up a day before I put them up on the site. I also plan on doing WIP photos on the site so you'll always be aware of what's coming up. The important thing is it's not going to be the only chance to get them. I'll be continuously making them and revisiting handle materials that are popular, and slowly adding new blade combos and patterns. So there you have it, just a bunch of rambling at this point. I swear trying to figure out the sales angle is way harder than making knives! I don't want anyone to be disappointed or put out. I'll keep everyone updated for sure.

Sorry for hijacking the thread BP!

Not at all, sir. We all very much appreciate the insight!

It’s something special when a conversation with makers themselves develops from something like this. I appreciate the willingness, I believe we all do. I’ve enjoyed every bit of it, and gained new interest in something that may have otherwise remained unknown to me (at least until it was too late!). Thanks again :)
