Does this frustrate anyone else? Uberknives XM sale

It's not always clear but if the primary topic is to discuss a retailer/dealer then Feedback is the place it should go.

I'm not discussing a retailer. I was using a sale by a retailer last week to point out that individuals strictly bought more than one product which was explicitly stated in the sale not to do (like many other retailers) and then resale them. This is about the habits of flippers which directly relate to all others trying to purchase a knife and how they help keep the prices higher than they should be. Maybe my title should have used the words "online retailer" but figured I'd have multiple questions about which retailer sold the XM for $385 if did that.

In any case just trying to post in the correct place and understand why this would get moved when it's topic clearly isn't feedback related at all.

Scalpers and Flippers of all stripes have a perfect right to price their items as they see fit. When I see unbridled greed, I mostly don't buy. It's a positive to me, because I learn who not to do business with. itrader rep doesn't tell you everything. Yet I'll still pay more, on rare occasion, if I really want something. Snails anyone?

Agreed and I'll notice who they are pretty quickly it seems. I've been involved in many hobbies and most others are more geared towards open knowledge and help compared answers I've received to some of my ignorant questions I've asked around here. Gotta learn some how and asking ignorant questions is the beginning of being educated so will just take the smart ass remarks and ignore them from now on I guess. It's fun being new and learning new crowds while happily making the journey to the magical box out by the street a few time per week to admire another foriegn object to me.

Again because the knives themselves have drifted from being the main topic, now it has become the prices and the retailers/sellers/vendors/purveyors. Sales related discussions go right here (including flippers, gougers, scalpers, or whatever other clever name they go by these days), always have and always will. So yes, the move was warranted, sorry it wasn't made clearer sooner.

The only way to stop it is to not purchase from the flippers and scalpers whatever they are called. Just don't allow yourself to be taken advantage of and the issue will resolve itself. The only people allowing it to continue is ourselves.

Good thing for smartphones. The flippers don't even have to get out of line at Walmart at 6am, buying up all the .22 ammo to resell, while they snag a retail priced Hinderer to flip on eBay...win win.

Thank you for explanation instead of the "carelessly posting in wrong section is annoying comment" as I honestly read the description of Good BD Ugly and it doesn't mention what you posted above. Maybe it's been a long time since the thread sections names were defined and could use an edit for us new users way for those that actually do try to follow simple rules/etiquette would post this type of stuff here; therefore, it would save you mods some time.

Again thank you for explaining as I understand constantly moving threads gets old and frustrating when being a mod.

No problem, my apologies for being snippy. It was a long day and I was genuinely tired, felt like my eyes were melting. :)
I am normally a very kind and well behaved evil super mod. Hehe

Well- newgrahamknives just listed a few of 3" slicers for 425! that's the lowest I've seen yet... to the TC's point- hopefully someone actually looking for one to keep/try picked one up.

So Uber always uses a set to sell their models at $385? I've noticed the singles listed as out of stock and when I first saw their $385 price I emailed them inquiring as to their stocking frequency or if they just had a limited/random stock and it sold for $385. Their response was that they receive stock regularly but no telling when it would come next but that they normally posted on sites listing restocking shipments arrivals which is how I was able to purchase the set. I wanted a spanto since my 3.5 is a slicer so was prefectly satisfied; although, I'd rather have paid more for an extreme duty Ti pen rather than the investigator Ti model because it's so small.

But even at the $420ish mark that is a sign of market being caught up and others hopefully will have to lower their pricing in order to move dusty products. But Hinderer will have to keep making what he is now or it will spiral and cycle all over again. Let's hope he just continues to produce products rather than watching secondary markets. I've read others who suggests he does limit quantities intentionally but I cannot agree or disagree since have not been around the knife market long enough to build an opinion.

yeah- as far as I've seen- those $385 out of stocks- never get restocked. I've only seen them list knife/hardware/investigator sets for $500+... fantastic price as well for the full set- but never seen them list just an xm by itself.

unfortunately this has been going on for awhile and not just at uberknives. People that buy direct or through dealers only to sell that at a higher price later on.
