I just opened the box 10 minutes ago and couldn't believe my eyes. I thought, well maybe it will wipe off. Nope.

I make it a dedicated user, then send it to Rick for some spa lovin. I would be upset as well, expecting something like that.

I'm so pissed. I dont know what to do. I bought it to keep up mint, I prefer using the 3.5's. I'm afraid to send it back because he asked me to pay for it via PayPal personal so I did. My dumbass mistake. Now I'm sitting here not knowing what to do. I need to contact the guy, he's a regular here on the RHK forums, and I didn't expect this at all. I just wanted to make sure with you guys that this knife was not indeed LINB :)

I've seen this happen before - and the rules were actually adjusted to stress that the knife is described as accurately as possible in the Exchange forum.

Contact the seller and give them the chance to make it right.

Remember - they have an interest in making the buyer happy, as negative feedback can be left which will hurt their chances of selling in the future.

I would be upset also if it happened to me - hopefully there is an honest mistake in all this and it will work out so all are happy in the end.

This is the only picture of the front of the knife that was provided.

Wow I would be upset if I spent $20 on a LNIB knife and it showed up like this but $600 I would be furious!! Hopefully things are made right between you and the seller.

Definitely not LNIB. I always ask seller to provide some high-res closeup shots of the areas i request. It dosent matter if its a knife, jacket, car parts, etc. That way i can see if the item matches the description plus im sure that the seller didnt save some random image from the internet and is selling a product he dosent have.

Brad you have an outstanding track record here, ask for a full refund and when you get it send him back the knife. He should have no problem trusting you.

if its to be a user, i would be ok with it. if it was to be a safe queen, i would demand a refund for false representation. either way, i would ask for a good 75$ refund and keep the knife.

If the knife were new, I could see posting about it here. But this came off the Exchange, and the questions and complaints about deals should go to FEEDBACK. Depending on how this works out, you may appreciate the backup the FEEDBACK crew is good at. Contacting the seller first would have been a good idea in itself.

Let me know if you me to move it there.

Point taken. Thanks. I just wanted to make sure that I had the support of the community, and that I was "in the right" to demand a refund. I do appreciate your input. I have contacted the seller and I am awaiting his response.

This exact thing has happened to me twice in the past year.... One seller made it right, and apologized profusely.. The other told me to pound sand, and defended his description.. I would contact the seller and ask him to make it right.. If he doesn't then, hit him with some feedback and get a spa treatment..
We are all in this together... the bad guys gotta go..

That is clearly not like new in box.

If the seller does not respond in a reasonable manner and corrects the mistake then you should definately post some feedback in the "FEEDBACK: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly!" subforum, here is a link:

List facts and sellers name so others do not make the same mistake of dealing with him, or if they do they should know this ahead of time and make their own decision as to further dealings with him.

Wow! If that isn't misrepresentation then I don't know what is. I'd be careful about making any deals with that guy from now on.
