Does your physical appearance affect your carry? I know that I carry dependent on how I am dressed etc. For instance if I am dressed in a shirt etc I am not afraid t carry a large, "mean"knife but if I am in a t-shirt and scuffed jeans I carry friendly knives like SAKs. If I look rspectable I carry a rebel knife and vice versa. Anyone else do this?

I carry knives suitable for what I plan to do. I dress with the same attitude.
So, no. I'm different to you.

Not generally, usually I carry what I like. Now, if I'm dressed up for a date or were going to a job interview or something, I might carry something a little nicer/classier looking, and would avoid anything too large or "intimidating". Recently, a friend graduated from college, and she wanted me to attend her graduation. Since I wasn't sure of the college's rules on carrying knives on campus, I decided to go with something small and non-threatening I could carry in pocket, rather than something with a clip(a purple Spyderco Ladybug, to be exact). But most of the time, I just carry whatever strikes my fancy.

I carry whatever fits in my pocket that day and will work for whatever I plan on doing today.

I like to carry something with a black deep carry pocket clip if I'm wearing black dress pants. I'm kind of the opposite of you, I prefer to carry something more discrete when I'm dressed up and something more fun when I'm casual.

Since I mostly wear jeans or cargo pants, I can pretty much carry what I want to. But generally, my choices reflect my use or likely use more than the kind of dress.

I always have a 111 mm SAK in my pocket and usually something else bigger.

I usually wear the same knives both at work and off. I'm a detective so work usually consists do khakis and pools or a jacket and tie, off work shorts and t-shirts. Always carry two Benchmade folders that vary. I can get buy carrying whatever I want at work and off work.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ this.

The only time how I dress determines what I carry is weddings than I look for a nice classic in pearl to slip into the pocket. ;)

You got a skinny little runt named Dalton working here ? :D j/k

I usually carry whatever I carry regardless of appearance or dress. :)

I carry "sheeple friendly" (need a better term) knives unless I'm at work. I carry whatever I want there 'cause, well, I'm working.

I carry according to what I feel like grabbing lol

but I usually carry a slicer for work, something a little more stout out of work

Not really. I carry a lightweight folder unclipped in my LFP and I rotate among my folders whenever the mood strikes. Today it's my Sage 2. Tomorrow, who knows? Variety is the spice of life. :)

Great Question!
I live in a rural community so for the most part the area is "knife friendly" and my barber has a sign on the door that says "registered guns welcomed here" LOL (She is is active in the local rifle club)

So generally if I'm just going to to our nearby town, I don't mind wearing my Cold Steel Lawman on my belt, and I've never had any problems doing that. However if I'm going to Raleigh or Durham I generally wear my Code 4 in my LFP. It's slimmer and lighter and it slips in my pocket easily. If I'm dressing up to go to a formal affair I will slip one of my small Case congress knives in my pocket. NCIS Agent Gibbs rule # 9 - "Never go anywhere without a knife"

I'm different than many of you. I have different knives, for different looks. I attend a wide variety of events, from mud bogs to opera, and I have a different knife for each type of event. It's kind of fun for me. It's kind of like shoes. You look at your choices and pick what kind of mood you're in. Most of my knives are high quality, so any of them can preform most jobs. Judging from the responses, I'm certainly in the minority, but that's ok.
