I love many kinds of pie. I have a hard time picking just one favorite. But I wanted to post a picture, and to connect to the picture, I will say strawberry-rhubarb pie. Definitely one of my favorites.

Thanks! I’ll jump in on this one. So here is a picture at the edge of the cemetery where my Grandad is buried. Quite a view.

My favorite is pumpkin pie and Grandad’s too. My parents and I met at his place in Montana with my girls to do some hunting over Thanksgiving. He was losing his eyesight and couldn’t drive anymore but he’d still head out hunting with us.

Mom had put 3 pumpkins pies on the chest freezer on his back porch to cool off. We would get back from hunting and I would always get him some ice from the freezer to mix him a drink. For whatever reason he decided to get his own ice. Without turning a light on he opened the lid and sent the pies flying into the wall. Needless to say Mom was upset. He felt pretty bad but made it worse when he later said “well that’s too bad because I really like pumpkin pie”. I thought Mom was going to punch him square in the nose!

Mom almost punched me in the nose when I told her “I know you’re upset and you’ve worked really hard getting stuff ready for Thanksgiving, but that’s the funniest damn thing I’ve ever seen!!” She was not amused.

I will add that while I haven't had any in many years, I do enjoy Rhubarb pie. As a kid, I used to eat Rhubarb right off the plant.

Not an entry, but thank you for your generosity. But that doesn't mean I'm not going to bore everyone with my favorite pie.

As a kid my favorite pie was always cherry. Then gradually, apple pie became my new favorite. That is until I had my first piece of key lime pie at the Blond Giraffe in Key West, while visiting FL during Bike Week about 20 years ago. And here's a knife pic:

Color me in. I live in Pecan Pie territory so I'll choose that. They should call it the man days of Summer as the useless little dog spends his day in the air conditioned house while I'm out in the heat.

I am in, thanks for the opportunity. my favorite pie is apple pie, either sugar free or regular, but almost always need a scoop of vanilla ice cream. second piece is chocolate pecan pie. My mom liked key lime pie and my dad liked a cherry rhubarb, still have yet to try it….just the name was intimidating.

Well its already been a year since the last GAW. Summer is winding down & kids are getting ready to start school again. Plenty of hot weather for me still to come where I live. Wildfires have been fewer this year thankfully.
So its time for a another GAW.

So, Up for this years GAW is a BNIB #043154 Schatt & Morgan 2007 Series 17 Split Back Whittler is very nice jigged red bone. Great quality on this one.

Thanks for asking. Blades are polished 420HC Stainless from what I have looked up.

Thanks Tim, I'm a big S&M fan and multi-blade guy as well, so I'm in. The best BBQ restaurant here in SW Florida has a peanut butter pie which is best described as a Reeses icecream pie and is just scrumptious! My newest addition to the knife accumulation is this American Whittler- large enough to cut a nice slice of pie!

Not an entry please! I'm a big pie guy! I'd say my favorite is my wife's apple pie with a slice of Swiss cheese melted on top. I do have to say this apple pie I had at the Culinary Institute of America a few weeks ago was a close second.
