and Jessie (old girl and very good dog)

We never planned to get poodles but I don't think I would ever be without at least two of them. Fantastic friends and extremely smart...

Well here are the four of the six.

First is Reese I showed earlier on this thread as a puppy. Well she grown and happily plum.

Next is Blue, another Beagle and the trouble maker. I bought her from a friend who could not keep her. She a good girl but like most Beagles find themselves in mischef.

Princess was a stray I found at school. I had the vet check for chip and nothing. So she now part of the family. I believe she is blue healer and maybe basenji mix. Her tail curls like the two past dogs we had.

And a pic of Princess and Cokey. Look like Mom and daughter. Cokey was a gift for my ex and the best part of that relationship.

Here's a few of our labs, Roz and Cammi. Cammi was just 8 weeks old then these were taken. She just turned 1 last month.

This is Bowie. We named him after David Bowie because he has one brown and one blue eye. In this pic he is only 16 weeks old. Today he is nearly 6 months old. He is a mix terrier and airdale. At 6 months he is 30 lbs.

Here's my Thor:

HPIM0194.jpg

He's 1/2 German Shepherd and 1/2 Norwegian Elkhound.

And this is Trixie (wife calls her "Toodles"):

She is 1/2 Belgian Groenendael and 1/2 Collie.

Thor's an impressive dog.

Very much in agreement with that; most folk know about German Shepherds but are not so aware about the smart and versatile Elkhounds, who excel at being good general purpose Gundogs.

Thor looks like he would be at warm in the bleakest Scandinavian winter.

Trixie looks like she can live up to her namesake if the desire so takes her.;)

Here's my yeller lab, Moxie. Got her from one of my fishing buds for two cases of Budweiser. She's extremely smart, but also extremely foolish.

And you have got one good loooking Lab CRR! Well worth two cases of beer. :D

But what do you mean by her being "extremely smart, but also extremely foolish"?

Thanks Bruce. I'll try to get some more recent pics. She weighs 85lbs now!!! By foolish, I mean only that she's still a puppy and therefore extremely playful and energetic. Not foolish in a bad way.

My little Mt. Cur X Coonhound, Newly treeing a coon.

His buddy, Nyla he'd be in trouble without if he catches a coon!

Here is my little Blaze (if 65 pounds is little), he's a few weeks past a year old and lively as can be. I will post more once I get them up on my site. I don't like to call him a mutt, seems almost derogatory to me, but he is part lab and part Mississippi mutt (which I believe included some fox hound). Don't ask how a guy in VA got a part Mississippi mutt...

Here he is standing up for a treat.

And about to catch a piece of cheese (visible in the upper right corner).

CRR, thanks I now understand what you meant by foolish. Hope you can get more current photo's.

Jill J., it seems with two digs there is always an instigator and your Newly seems to be that in your pack. These pic's show just how much grass you have to mow.

knifephan your Blaze is the most stunning shade of brown I have seen. But I have to

I have never heard of a Mississippi mutt before???

Lady I work with son went to Mississippi for an extended stay. He got a stray dog there that was a mutt (showed up at his place, or lived there when he got there, I'm not sure). The dog he got had pups while they were there in Mississippi. Somehow he came to know the pups were at least part fox hound, but largely unknown. Some of the pups came back here and one of them got knocked up by a Lab that likes jumping fences. So my pup is the only one of the litter from VA (half Mississippi Mutt and half Lab) that turned out his color. Most of the 10 were black and white, one was white with a little black, one had brown and white in the face but was mostly black, and one was khaki. About 3 were a fluffy coat and the rest had a coat like mine. A few folks have told me he looks like a Rhodesian Ridgeback, which I can kind of see, and when he gets excited he get a "mohawk" down his back. He is also about the weight of a common Ridgeback male.

Anyway, long story short we know there is some Lab, and a little Fox Hound but there is a large part unknown Mississippi Mutt in him, and I suspect strongly there is a fair bit of Ridgeback.

I have a gallery of pictures of the whole litter from when we picked Blaze up here if you are interested. They are original size so I won't insert them since I don't know how to make them display smaller without physically resizing them.

If you go back a page or two you will see the photo of my Ridgeback but this is a better picture of his ridge:

I would agree that you fellow has some Ridgie mixed in him for sure from the description of his 'mohaw' as well as his colour! :)

I believe you need to resize the your photo before uploading using your camera's or image manipulation software but I did notice that Photobucket now has a resizing option when uploading pics for web display.

Thanks for the explanation of 'Mississippi Mutt' and I will enjoy looking at all the other photo's.
