Dogs and knives, just for fun.

Here's my Australian Kelpie mix . Her name is Soda. I rescued here a few months ago. She is around 1 yr. old.

Did you cut your digs ears off?

Very cruel.

his dew claws were removed too as per the breed standard. i don't need a hippy lecturing me on this, it serves a functional purpose for a functional working/hunting dog. i'm sure you don't know what the functional/safety purposes are and just like to pick a topic for your high horse. are you going to tell me i need to stop killing wild animals for food? that i should just rely on animals that were born only to be eaten? or are you a vegen or something? you probably think i have an evil dog too since he's banned in new zealand due to being banned in the uk... even though there were no dogo argentino's in the uk at the time of the ban.

I am refraining from typing what I am really thinking and am going to be educational instead.

Working/Hunting dogs like the one above have dew claws removed, and ears cropped for very good reasons. While that dog is out in the field his dew claw could become stuck or snagged and ripped off. Same with his ear. Now some people lop the tails as well but some dogs needs those for signaling and/or balance. Now, which do you think would be more painful? Getting a body part lopped or ripped off while the dog is conscious or having them surgically removed while the dog in asleep? Plus, a lot of people do these things while the dog is already under getting neutered or spayed.

Back on topic. I am shopping for a pack for my dog and she will most likely carry a blade in it. But something very small, probably a BK13.

she spent six months alone in the middle of the blue ridge mountains
she got attacked by a bear
she took on two pitbulls and won
she is my dog and will give her life to protect me and my family and both of us know she will do just that.

and yes she carries a sak

My Dogos are also cropped ignore the banter

If they where not they would have no ears left all the stuff they get in :)

good to see somebody else on here with the breed  yeah, they don't go out of their way to avoid injury, lol. "oh, my face is wrapped up in briars? let me rush through the rest of these briars as fast as possible"
how many do you have? we've had magnus for about a year. not sure when i'm going to drop the hammer on getting more to have my own pack for hunting on my own. to me, magnus looks lean for his weight. the vet puts him at 95, and my scale shows 105. maybe i could ask your opinions on who to get more from when i decide on expanding... because it's about impossible to discern who thinks what about breeders at daca due to their policies. magnus needs more full time dogs to rough house with, besides just the in-laws pit bull mutt. i do it myself and leave with injuries most of the time due to his head made of steel.

yours look great btw. how long have you owned dogos?

that last pic made me tear up, reminded me of my pit Erma, way back in '80.

I dont mean to make you tear up by posting the rest of these but hopefully it will spark some memories of your Erma!

lol... he was licking himself, my wife fussed at him and he looked up like he was saying "problem?" it makes her mad when he licks himself, i just tell her to leave him alone, he doesn't have a woman so he has to make due.

They are just 90 pound love bugs. The golden which is 3 years old won't even leave my mothers side or he starts to cry so he isn't very useful but I love both of them

I have a 140lb Boerboel named Ajax and his entire mouth is full of knives!! lol. He destroys Kongs like they were made of jello. I'm sure the Dogo owners can identify. Maybe I'll get him a bowling ball :) .

 i love boerboels. any pictures? ha, the only thing i've found that magnus doesn't chew up (and swallow) is this red softish thing that you can put this hard treat disk on the end, or stuff something inside of it. granted, i don't think he's made an effort to chew the toy, and only eats the treat off the end, or compresses it to get out whatever is stuffed inside.

Just thinking outloud. What type of KNIVES / TOOLS / EQUIPIMENT do Service dogs carry, ie MOUNTAIN SEARCH AND RESCUE, POLICE, MILITARY, SECURITY ETC.

JParanee, from the look of your photos, I think if I had to, I'd rather fight your Dogo's than you. On a serious note I own a 20 month Pitbull bitch who replaces my 8 year old Irish Terrier,(accidently killed). This bitch will be my 4th APBT and no ' none of them have ever bitten a human being. I don't hunt with my dogs but they live active lives going in the car and regularly to the beach. Seeing as how she spends so much time in the surf I'll have to outfit her with a Spyderco H1 Salt. I'll try to get some photos to post.
