Dogs and knives, just for fun.

Our dog Peaches. You can usually find her asleep on the couch or barking at our hippy neighbors.

Venmm73,
Hey, check out pictures of boradors, it is a lab collie mix, and some look a lot like yours with the longer hair. Mine has a lab coat, but the vet said in all likelihood she is lab and collie. I can see Australian Shepard in her although without any brown coming through maybe not.

Thanks nccole, I got that wrong. I meant to say border collie and lab .. We were told Aussie and border collie when we got her as a pup , but as she grew she looked less and less the aussie .

Best thread I've seen here in a very long time. Brings back memories of many of my dogs.
Sonny

This one is mine. He`s a tough little SOB, kills rats and mice and keeps them away from our house. Great dog to have around. And no his name is not Toto :p

This is my dog Jo. She is a standard poodle crossed with a Giant Schnauzer. She is a goof and very intelligent. She doesn't generally carry knives, but I'd strap one on her harness if I went on a hike

she got attacked by a bear
she took on two pitbulls and won
she is my dog and will give her life to protect me and my family and both of us know she will do just that.

and yes she carries a sak
That is an awesome dog. Check out the picture of mine, I think they could be sisters! I do not know if mine is that tough but is very protective of my wife (me not so much, she looks to me to protect her)

It comes as no great surprise to see so many healthy and happy lookin' dogs owned by knife-folk...

Growing up on the farm, my family always had two dogs. Most were Heinz 57's, a few were purebreds, some were rescued, but all were loved and well-cared for. I sure wish I could have a dog nowadays, but I'm a shift-worker and couldn't bring myself to leave a four-legged family member alone for 12hrs at a time. Maybe someday.

Anyway, thanks to all for sharing! Great pix!

A lot of people think she has pit in her too, but the vet said she did not and my brother-in-law who raised pits said he did not think she had pit in her. She is only 45 lbs (she will jump up in my lap if I let her). She will get snippy with other females if they bother her too much but has never shown overtly aggression. I hate the reputation pits get and most people do not even understand that pits are dog-aggressive and not people aggressive. Most of the bad stories are multiple free-roaming pits attacking either little kids or elderly people. I like seeing people correctly raise pit and pit mixes.

This is a great thread. Thanks to the OP for starting it. This is Blake. He's a two year old rescue; black lab, hound, and who knows what else. We couldn't ask for a better companion. Remember, good dogs make us better people.

more on the bottom part... as far as the clifton report (where all these bit statistics come from) goes, if you read it carefully, they included ridiculous things as attacks. one instance (this isn't going to be exact, but give an idea) a man had a heart attack or something and died. he had 12 or so puppies that started eating on him after he had been dead, and they hadn't been fed, and that counted as 12 (or whatever the number was) attacks by pit bulls. the reporting of this stuff is ridiculous.

This is our dog, Teekah. She thinks she's mean but she's really about as mild mannered as they come. A very lovable little pooch.

She wouldn't have a clue what to do with a knife but I had this Byrd Robin engraved as a tribute to her.
