Dogs and traditional knives

Here is Harley, our 10 week old Golden Retriever.

Lacey's leg that was operated on this summer has been giving her a little trouble this week, so we took her back to the surgeon in San Francisco to get her checked out. We were worried that maybe she tore a tendon again, or one of the screws in her knee came loose. But all is well and as expected - she is fine, just worked it a little too hard (blue heeler / collie mix, so full intensity is her only setting). Since we were in the City and we brought the whole family, we then went to Golden Gate Park and climbed Stawberry Hill (which is an island in Stow Lake). Today started out stressful but ended up a really good day.
Had my two most-carried knives with me for the adventure (pic taken in the cab of the pickup).

Glad Lacey is doing well and no issues. Looks like a great place to spend some time.

Heelers can be intense, but that's part of the charm.

One of my favorite pics of our dogs from a couple years ago captures something of each of their personalities. Whiskey (Aussie shepard) is like, "Oh, hi!" while Lacey (blue heeler mix) is like, "I will cut you."

They are both good looking dogs. 🤠

I met my best friend many years ago when I was a Freshman in college. I walked into my first Ag class and saw a guy in the back row with his heeler laying next to him. I thought, there's a guy I should get to know, so I sat next to him. During class, his Heeler jumped up and bit me in the arm. The guy apologized, but I told him not to worry about it, I have a Heeler too. Next day I brought my Heeler to school, but kept her in back of the truck. After class we both walked out so he could meet my Heeler, who promptly bit him in the face... We'd been best friends ever since.

My favorite joke when someone meets my dog for the first time: "He doesn't bite often."
