Domestic Scale maker

Not to hijack the thread, but I have a few unorthodox projects by the names of Buck Marksman, Spyderco Dragonfly 2 FRN and Cold Steel Black Talon II that I need rescaled, as well as a skyline that desperately needs to be done. Does anyone have any recommendations for someone who works with wood, G10 and carbon fiber?

I can help with the Buck and Skyline...but the Dragonfly and cold steel would need someone with a precision mill to accommodate the locks on them...there's a reason you don't see a lot of customized lock-backs...they are a PITA to work on:-)

I also have a couple Cold Steels that need custom scales and backspacers. Or just backspacers. Anyone willing to give it a try?

Thanks

This thread kicked off a few projects, so I thought I'd post an update on the first finished scale.

Ohhhhh yeah, love that ironwood. Been trying to figure out how I could get one of my folder handles updated to use it. I used ironwood on a home deck project btw, it is an amazing durable hardwood.

I recently patented a new carbon fiber composite, and am now providing to knife makers and scale makers. It is solid carbon fiber molded into real 3D wood figure and is like no other Cf you have ever seen, as it has reflective chatoyance exactly the way real wood figure has, because it is constructed exactly the same way wood is - linear fibers bent to refract the light. I am not making finished scales but am providing this CF called Figured Fiber to ultra high-end knifemakers and perhaps guys like Rival. Making .185" and .250" next week.

Being like real wood figure, the wavy figure goes all the way throughout its thickness, regardless of how deeply machined, as you can see by the rounded edge on left side. Will be interleafing 5 mil bronze in next weeks panels like the one mil copper test below for a damascus effect.

Holy shitballs that's amazing. What colours can you do that in?

Right now, just the color of common CF because it is CF. Looking to get Texalium, which is aluminized Fiberglass, otherwise known as "silver carbon fiber". But I am afraid the minimum order will exceed ten grand because I need it to be unidirectional. When my CF is polished, it shines almost like silver CF - pretty much exactly like the pics I posted, but it moves in 3D.
I have tried to dye the intercoat layers during layup, but the color doesn't come through because I laminate with such high pressure to create void free panels, that nothing survives the interlayering. Except precious metal interleafing (right now only doing bronze and copper).
For my guitars, I am candy coating a 2K urethane topcoat. Might be possible with knife scales, but coating would wear off. It polishes fine though as its own solid surface.
