Domino Description

I handled one at the Blade Show - it was fantastic. Smooth operation, slim, relatively light weight. The size was somewhere between a Manix and the Native - but closer to the Manix in size, although the Domino was a much lighter knife than the Manix.

I had the same visceral reaction to the Domino that I had the first time I handled the Sage. It just fit my hand perfectly. The flipper was unobtrusive when closed and formed a choil when the knife was open. There were no rough edges on this knife. It is a thing of beauty...

Handled it at BLADE and I loved it. Handles scales had a cool look to them and felt good in-hand. Ergonomics for my hand felt great. Very usable blade shape with a nice flat grind. Flies open with a satisfying smack when flipped. Little bit I gathered is that the street price might be around the upper $100, less than $200 range.

On the preorders it's listed as 300 with a street price/buy price of 210

I don't care if it's made from the blood of the nonbelievers, I'm damn sure buying one.

That thing is friggin awesome looking and CTS-XHP is one of my favorite steels!

Same here! It is like the Manix and Sage series had a love child. With a flipper to boot!

And they have the Spyderco Street Beat for $175.95 while other sites have them for $154.95. Not trying to bash them, but their prices are a bit more than other comparable sites. But this does serve to show why Spyderco is tight-lipped about upcoming releases & prototypes. I make a comment on what I overheard the likely price might be, and some other posters point out I was wrong. No harm, no foul for me, but it would cause a lot more issues if someone from Spyderco had posted it.

Bit off topic - how is Knifecenter able to show pics of these knives? I thought that wasn't allowed?

I like the flipper on the Domino but if I'm going with a high end Taiwan made spyderco... I think I'd rather have the Spyderco Sage in titanium.

The Sage is awesome, but don't forget: the Techno has an SS lock-bar insert / overtravel-protector, Ball-bearings, more expensive steel, and is a little larger overall. With the current street price as low as it is, it's a lot of bang-for-buck factor (and I wish Spyderco would release a Gen 2 version of the Sage 2 with that beat-to-hell stonewash finish on it so it doesn't show scratches nearly as badly).
