Don’t cage it up, let it free! (The BF22 Bunny Knife picture thread!)

I’m new here, so maybe I am completely off base… but I am slight appalled at the number of people who have complained about the design of the knife, and then about the timeliness of shipping, etc… If you don’t like the design, why order one? And why complain about how quickly someone can ship hundreds of them? I’m sorry, but it seems like a great lack of gratitude. If I receive one, I will be more than grateful

the etch is debatable all day. the gnashing of teeth in regard to shipping is pathetic

The annual forum knife does not tend to bring out the best in people. It is something of a small miracle that the forum knife happened this year, but that was largely due to the folks in charge reigning in the member participation and being generous enough to endure the less prolonged and less volatile, but nonetheless usual shenanigans. I think a lot of people are grateful, but people are also impatient. When my kids want to thank me, they usually say so once, or twice, and any more than that and I get suspicious. When my kids grow impatient they let me know many times. Grown ups aren't that different than kids.

Man oh man !!!
I just LOVE 😍 the action of this knife !!!
Buttery smooth
I can flick it open even better than my modern ones
Thank you Charlie ! :)

It's all in the gloves! :p

I predict in years to come people will love the etch and it will become a symbol of cool
Just think how "hot" the etch would be if it were "Bad Bunny Knife"!:thumbsup:🤓
(Betcha didn't think a geezer like me would be such a master of pop culture, didja?? 😁
I was surprised that a Search didn't bring up any Bad Bunny references in the 2022 Forum knife threads.
But maybe I missed them.)

That's not unusual for a hand made slipjoint, using natural materials.

Adds a bit of character!

We all could do with a little bit of that... 🍻

Merry Christmas, friends.

True. I wasn’t intending my observation as a criticism, but in my experience GEC usually gets fit and finish very clean with respect to transitions. I was curious if this new pattern presented some variance in that respect.

I didn't read your comment as criticism friend, it's all good. I was rather just pointing out these slippies will sometimes have these types of variance.

Coming along
dirty Bunny! 🤣 🐰

Merry Christmas 🐰🎄:)

when i read comments like yours MolokaiRider MolokaiRider , for me, it feels like criticism.

it sounds like criticism of those who either don't know that the material is natural and has been processed by hand or that one shouldn't complain because it's just variations and not a flaw .
most people given this advice know that GEC knives are handmade and that there are also variations in the materials used.
but they still have a problem with this 'variation', otherwise they wouldn't write it here.
for me, variations are for example the coloring of the handle material (but even if the two sides of the handle material differ more, GEC declares the knife as an ''S'' knife).
in the case of this bunny knife, it's an obvious and poorly executed transition to the bolster (I have my own idea of how that could have happened).
even if, ''these slippies will sometimes have these types of variance'', and I am aware that this can happen, then imho this rabbit shouldn't have hopped through quality control and i completely understand JTB_5 JTB_5 's concerns.

I appreciate the follow up and I do agree that handmade knives will show variance, and that most of the time the issues are cosmetic rather than functional. There would be a lot less to talk about, though, if folks didn't share observations and opinions! Merry Christmas!

One of the best things about handmade products is enjoying the craftsmanship, isn't it? Merry Christmas!
