Don’t cage it up, let it free! (The BF22 Bunny Knife picture thread!)

I decided to take the number off, mine its going nowhere and will never be sold,I love this one a lot.

So sat in the sun with various grades of emery paper and took my time.

I lightened the scales a bit as well.

Ive improved it a bit more since these photos.

If I can find someone to engrave it I will.

Have you any ideas for a pattern that would work on the small area available?

Did you do anything to lighten the ebony or was it just from sanding?

I received this lovely gift from @JonMcD yesterday in the mail and then this morning on my way to work I nearly ran over this little guy… I could not help myself when he peeked out to look at the bunny.

The tortoise and the hare?

Note: I did place him much further from the road after getting the pic.
Nice work on polishing that blade.

Speaking of HardTack ...

True story:
During the (un)Civil War, a Union Sgt was taking roll call.
After he finished roll call, he says:
"Yeh know boys, I was eatin' a piece of Hard Tack this mornin' and I bit into something soft!!! Ya know what it was???"
After a few seconds a private called out "A WORM???"
SGT Says "NO, BY GOD!!! IT WAS A DAM 10 PENNY NAIL!!!!"

Having had some Hard Tack at (un)Civil War reeinactments back in 1989 to 1997. (I was a participant) I can believe the 10 penny nail would be "soft" if you bit into one. At worst, it would not be much harder than the Hard Tack ... might even add some flavor.
HardTack was also known as "jaw breaker biscuits" and "tooth breaker bread" by the troops. (Both Union and Confederate. Both sides were issued rations of Hard Tack and "Salt Pork" which was raw cubes of bacon, and a few ounces of coffee beans, when/if available.)
