Don’t you just hate it when…

I had a package delivered by DHL recently from France. It ended up turning up a day early, which was nice. The not nice part was that I asked for signed delivery and they just left it on my porch without a signature. DHL pestered me with emails and texts asking if I wanted it as a non-signature delivery, to which I never replied. Thankfully my Eufy doorbell saw the person drop the delivery off, so I did end up getting my knife, just without signature confirmation.

They are lucky you are honest. A lesser man would have told them it never arrived.

They should have gotten a signature.

Thank you. I don't know if I could have ever told them it didn't arrive, I just don't have that in me.

They definitely should have, but I am just glad to have got my new Fontenille Pataud in one piece.

Love the handle! 😂

Sometimes I'll get impatient with the shipping too, and I've even gone so far once or twice to have the thought of "I've already paid for the damn thing, why can't I have it now?!" Then I'll realize that that was a really spoiled first-world thought to have and imagine myself looking like that super spoiled girl that gets turned into the blueberry in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory that has the rich dad and is always demanding everything 😂. But yeah, UPS sucks, I always try to get USPS also.

What really drives me mad : package reaches local hub and should be out for delivery next day .

Instead they put it on the truck for Timbuktu and you gotta wait while your knife gets a world tour ! 🤯

Huh? That’s just a couple S45VN knives hanging out. Nothing like the MagnaCut goodness you’re waiting on.

Seriously though, Bog Oak was not originally my first choice, but it was a decent deal I picked up on the exchange here to be my first (and only…. for now 😉) CRK. I like it more in person than I did in pictures. Not sure if you have others in Bog Oak, but I’m sure you’ll like it.

Yeah, I’ve had it be one town over due to a sorting error on zip code and it take 4-5 extra days for it to work it’s way back up and down the system.

Thanks for the feedback. I’ve been thinking about picking up a slightly dressier Sebbie for quite awhile and found myself going back and forth between the micarta and wood variants. None of the wood options I first encountered were completely blowing me away, so I was leaning towards the micarta. Then I saw my first bog oak model and something about it resonated with me on multiple levels. I appreciate that it’s a natural material and has taken thousands of years to achieve its present form. I also like the color contrast between the dark wood and blasted titanium. Looking forward to Monday.

Wtf, I was just looking at these two exact knives yesterday...

No, I do. not. need. another knife
Yes. You. Do!

I really like them both. The Sebenza is a little easier/lighter in the pocket and a bit more slicey due to thinner stock and hollow grind, but the SHF fits my hand better and I'd put right up there with my ZT 0562Ti for a knife I'd bet my life on.

If you want to scratch the itch for a little less, but still get a very high quality knife, the Spyderco Swayback is on clearance for ~$200 or so a lot of places right now. It is also full titanium handle frame lock with very slicey hollow grind. It's a wharncliffe style, and CTS-XHP steel. It is is much closer to the Sebenza in terms of size/weight/cutting.
