Don’t you just hate it when…

Yes. You. Do!

I really like them both. The Sebenza is a little easier/lighter in the pocket and a bit more slicey due to thinner stock and hollow grind, but the SHF fits my hand better and I'd put right up there with my ZT 0562Ti for a knife I'd bet my life on.

If you want to scratch the itch for a little less, but still get a very high quality knife, the Spyderco Swayback is on clearance for ~$200 or so a lot of places right now. It is also full titanium handle frame lock with very slicey hollow grind. It's a wharncliffe style, and CTS-XHP steel. It is is much closer to the Sebenza in terms of size/weight/cutting.

Ooh I'll check that out, the swayback could be a good in between when I can't decide on traditional or modern...

How would you rate the fit and finish of the SHF vs the Seb? I have a couple Sebenza 21's and an Umnumzaan and haven't found anything that has quite the same level of quality feel (haven't tried the Arius yet so can't comment there). I saw one comment that said the SHF feels a little finer than the Hinderer XM-18 but a little below the Sebenza, would you agree with that?

I do think Spartan's laser engraved graphics blow the Chris Reeves out of the water, though, some of those designs like yours look incredible...

I have no complaints on F & F on either. I only have the one Sebenza and two SHFs (Plague Doctor tucked away also), so my sample size is very small. I would rate both as almost flawless, maybe ever so slightly better on Sebenza but both well ahead of virtually all my other knives. One of the others I would add in with similar F & F to them is a Tactile Knife Rockwall, but its much more a gentleman's blade than the others. I don't have a lot of Hinderer experience to really compare them(yet anyway.) I'm still looking to pick one up, but having a couple Hinderer designed ZTs, the SHFs, and some other heavy use knives has me being very picky on something that will really add something new/unique.

I think it's a bit easier to notice wear on the design SHF vs the wood inlay on the Sebenza but I am not sure how much of a concern that is for you. I am not sure how easy the CRK graphic knives pick up wear though.

Thanks for the feedback! I definitely feel you when it comes to adding something unique to the collection; I had both a Hinderer mini XM-18 and a Hinderer designed ZT0551; ended up selling the Hinderer and keeping the ZT. The Hinderer was definitely more finely made, but it wasn't as far ahead of the ZT as I had hoped.

For what it's worth, the SHFs that I've handled have none of the lock rock of the 31s. Fit and finish were similar, with stonewash blade finish going to SHF personally.

I had a package delivered by DHL recently from France. It ended up turning up a day early, which was nice. The not nice part was that I asked for signed delivery and they just left it on my porch without a signature. DHL pestered me with emails and texts asking if I wanted it as a non-signature delivery, to which I never replied. Thankfully my Eufy doorbell saw the person drop the delivery off, so I did end up getting my knife, just without signature confirmation.
I think that is how DHL operates. I had nearly the same thing happen with a watch about two weeks ago.

How about this for a shipping issue. I ordered a LOT of ammo, and just got home from work when it was supposed to be delivered, when I got an email from Fedex that due to the rain, that had to take the package back and relabel it, and it would be delivered tomorrow. Great, whatever I can wait a day. Next day comes, they accidently put the new label on someone elses package. So instead of $350 in ammo, I get a $70 auto part for a 1990 Corvette. After two weeks of going back and forth with Fedex about it, rather than figuring it out, and fixing the issue, they just paid for both me and the other guy to have new packages sent to us. So it was going to be another week, another range trip cancelled. However, I was able to track the other person down, and we both ended up with two for the price of one. Thankfully he lived in the middle of nowhere and getting a large package of ammo didn't bother him.

It all worked out in the end, but 6 weeks to get a package is a long time, and the fact that FedEx would rather write off the problem rather than fix it pisses me off for the principle of the thing, but I still got double the ammo I paid for.

Logistics quality seems to vary geographically a lot. Where I am now, UPS and USPS are both great, and I try to avoid Fedex, who seems to go out of their way to be annoying and then lie about it.

When I was in New York, I had a few packages sent USPS that had normal tracking until hitting the local distribution hub, at which point they mysteriously went missing.

When I was in Afghanistan, DHL would routinely deliver narcotics to me directly (medical supply guy), even though everything was supposed to be routed through the package terminal and locked up if controlled. As an E4 at the time (not authorized to handle narcs until E5 per regs), I immediately handed over the narcotic shipments to the officer I answered to! 😂

You should see how easily it passes through metal detectors. ;)
Probably costs more than I make in a month as well I imagine! My own CRK treat arrived this morning, and other side of the trade reported his delivery arrived a day early! Gonna be a couple of happy new knife owners this weekend!View attachment 2306806

UPS is a strange animal around these parts. I literally had one walk up to my door, not ring or knock, and stick the damn “attempted delivery sticker” on my door. No package in his hands.

It just so happened that (since I saw him coming) I opened the door the instant he stuck the sticker on the door, informed him I was indeed home and that he hadn’t “attempted” anything, followed him to his truck, got my package, and took his name so I could tell his boss what a great job he did.

What an absolute sack. What’s the reason? Take the effort it took to write out the sticker and march it up to the door when he could have just as easily brought my package? Pbsheeeeit. Goofy.
I have the same soft knuckled UPS drivers where I live, who are all saving themselves for a career in hand modeling by the way they do anything to avoid knocking at the door and making a quick getaway. My work desk has perfect overwatch of the driveway, so they tend to try to sneak up the side after parking on the side road. I might have to start setting trip flares soon.
