Done with Strider

I don’t have one yet but was planning on getting one eventually. What exactly are your complaints?
Second Strider came and went, these knives are so lame, can’t really believe I could not just look at one and see crap the first time.

Unsolicited opinion: They can be hit and miss. The secondary market scalper prices are comical. 9 inch knife with 3.1 inches of usable edge and 2.5 choils ( SMF ). At least Their fixed blades are decent. A choiless SNG sized option would be nice in PD1

Mick burger (strider) is a lying, thieving, dishonorable discharged, stolen valor, pretend commando.

I try and inform anyone I can just in case someone might care if they are supporting a dirt bag.

I have to agree, got my first one and it had the worst lock stick I’ve ever experienced, opening and closing was a chore and not because it wasn’t “broken in” and it’s was about as sharp as a butter knife. It’s barely a $200 knife, don’t know why people are spending $600-$3000 other than the fact that some of them can look pretty bad ass.

Interesting, I like the look of them but was primarily buying one to complete the trinity. I’ve heard of some of their qc issues and it was a concern.

The not wearing well in the pocket is a big deal to me cause I really don’t keep anything that’s gonna just sit.

Gonna have to strongly reconsider, after all I already have the real third member of the trinity 😉

Striders are basic knives, never been impressed but also never been let down. It seems though that the market is more than happy for super basic $400+ knives is they are made in the USA.

At least the recent ones have carbidizing on the lock face. Finally out of the 1990's.

I openly accept that Strider (Burger) is a liar, but honestly, compared to the Chinese industrial complex, the dude is a saint hahaha

Build quality on the standard lines are rubbish in todays market for sure, and anyone paying over RRP is a fool for a standard model IMO.

I guess like anything, each to their own. I think friction folders are hilariously stupid products in todays day and age and have had more close calls with them than any bladed product in my life, yet people froth over them.

If I worried about liars and cheats and communists, I likely wouldn't own much of anything in life. I don't even know who built my home, should I be worried? Am I supposed to go back 50ish years to figure out if one of the workers was an ex-con, lied about his life or felt very strongly that marxism was correct? If I find it out, do I sell the house on principal?

I remember years ago thinking how cool it would be to have the trinity. I had a hard time with the price as I had just purchased my first Sebenza and still couldnt believe I had payed that much for a pocket knife!
After a few weeks I was all in and searched for the ones I wanted. I owned stryduh for about an hour before realizing it was nothing I wanted to keep. Actually sold it on the exchange to the guy that sold it to me.
It wasnt until after that I found out that fucking mickey needed throat punched.

Nope. No one here expects you to do anything on principle.

Apples and oranges.

If used correctly that’s a non issue.

Besides the obviously dishonorable advertising by which means most people come to know Strider Knives, I am surprised that people look at Strider knives and see anything particularly special or worthy, particularly for the price point. The combination of "meh" designs and unscrupulous owner make it a hard pass.

... out of curiousity... what are these friction folders that everyone's frothing over?
... and are these people 19th century French peasants?

I do love my Svord and Opinels though. I'd take one over a Strider any day.

The only Strider I own is the Pro-Tech SNG, I felt "ok" about purchasing it because of Pro-Tech involvement; it still kinda gave me an certain queasy feeling purchasing it. It is a nicely constructed knife, but the blade is not very useful with the amount of choils and actual working edge on it.

It is collecting dust in the safe.

I knew about Strider long before my knife journey began here ... he was quite "renown" on multiple firearm forums I was a member of.

Did you mean an 'easy pass'? As in easy to pass over this knife and go for a purchase of others?

Not trying to speak for you. Just want a clarification. I agree the first part of the sentence. The last part made say 'wait, what?'

it's a potentially confusing colloquialism. It means that my response is "pass" and it's firm and unwavering.
"hard no" is another.
