I had a Strider PT CC that I regret selling. The ergos on it were superb. I’d probably like an SNG or SMF. The SMF looks on par with a Shirogorov F3.

every preceding generation makes boomers look like the greatest generation. Well actually every generation makes the preceding generation look like saints!!

Les George of course shoud replace strider and be the third in the trinity! Les is extremely underrated and I’m still working on trying to figure out why!!!
I've been intrigued by some of Les George's knives and patterns...I suppose that's another itch I'll have to scratch at some point.

I do have a Demko AD20 in Cru-Wear and I think it's a great knife with a great lock.

No interest in Medford.

I enjoy the aesthetics and function of his knives but it’s really the action he achieves on pb washers that blow me away. His fit n finish are excellent and ya couldn’t support a nicer guy.

That's always been an important component in my collecting...and probably has only grown in importance over the decades.

Supporting good folks matters.

I own 3-4 PTs and really like them, bought an SNG and what piece of crap. It had lock stick that made closing it a major effort, the lock side was not finished decently and the pivot was full of crud, and it had a super thick edge. I cleaned it, lubed it, adjusted the pivot and still a mess. I was working on it one day and a friend of my son came over and really liked it. He is a bit of a PIA so I gave it to him I hope it drives him nuts (short trip).

Freedom of Speech

High quality knives
(It leads to counterfeits)

You wouldn't ever turn one down if it were free or gifted to you.
(Well done counterfeits are truly obvious)
We can agree to disagree. Not interested in one. If anyone wants to gift me one, feel free to gift it elsewhere. Not my cup of tea...on a variety of levels.

I understand.

Wasn't making a sales pitch.

I couldn't sell ocean water to a dolphin.

Olamic should be the third part of the Holy Trinity or maybe Shiro.

Never owned a Strider and never will they just don't appeal to me and the owners stolen valor bit is just too much.
I have no doubt Shiro would be a great contender for a spot, but I think the criteria for most is that it is American made

Olamic would take it then.

Does anyone know if the Strider shop in California even makes their knives there? Wouldn't be shocked if he outsources too.

So the trinity has to do with them being the first to offer midtech or high end custom production models from my understanding. Not just based on quality made knives. I’m pretty sure but not a 100% that strider predates Les George which is why stider is included in the trinity and not Les or anybody else. I could be wrong and a more experienced member may be able to add to the beginnings of the trinity.

Again I’m not a 100% but I’ve heard that olamic outsources all of it parts from Russia and more or less just assembles their knives. If anyone knows otherwise please clarify, that’s just what I’ve heard and we all know how that goes.

Regardless I really like some of their knives and are very well made. Eugene is also a very nice guy, his older buddy though is pretty rough around the edges.

If used correctly that’s a non issue.
^ This!

The best Friction Folder tutorial I've ever watched, is a YouTube video shot by 1 of BF's own knife making legend's, Mike Snody.

Pay particular attention to the part of this video beginning @ 1:20 in, "The Defensive Posturing Technique (DPT as I call it)- Leave the tang of the friction folder exposed, mind your own business walking to your car..... If a crackhead comes up and grabs you.... use a downward strike, pretend you're a monkey"

That chisel grind with the carbide edge Snody puts on his signature FF, is an amazing slicer as well!

"Clowns to the left of me.... Jokers to the right here I am......"

As for the OP: Buy a CRK Zaan and save yourself some $$$.

I don't know what his internet exposure/ forum and such is, but lack of it is often the cause. These high flyers have built large fan bases and a mystic though the internet.
