Don't buy the Fenix LD15.

I've got a L1T going on 4.5 years and plan on replacing it whenever it dies, problem is, it just won't die. I did have an issue with the tailswitch a little under 2 years in and they sent me a fresh one out with instructions, replaced myself no problems. I have nothing but good for Fenix.

same here , that 1LT is a work horse of a light , mine is close to 4 years .

Also have a Fenix LD10 , no problems with it , I use it a lot at work.

Have a few of the older P1's , and have no issues with them as well.

The have been so reliable that I have sold of the majority of my Surefire's.

I have a P2D that I've been carrying for a year and a half, now. It hasn't failed me. I'm actually very impressed with the quality for it being a chinese product.

If I am not mistaken:

This model Fenix has a rubber gasket thingie at the bottom (negative) end with three spring thingies that extend up to make the connection.

It seems like those spring thingies may be crunched down to the point where the negative end of the battery can't engage them.

Try this: take a small ball of aluminum foil and roll it down in there. Insert the battery and screw the head on as normal. Once the foil flattens, it should make the connection.

4sevens Revo has been known to do the same thing and I believe that it has a similar set up instead of a traditional spring.

I'll see if I can find a link. All this is from memory.

Payed 40$ for this flashlight had it for about 2 weeks or less really bright clean light nice flood far throw. At work today went into the trailer where we keep over flow items and I need to look for something so I pull my keys out and switch it once and it turned on. Someone needed to talk to me so I turned it off real quick had a conversation when I turn it back on it flashes for a second and goes off. I have tried many different batteries, looked at the inside of the light and it looks no different from when I bought it which means that the led burned out that is supposed to last 50,000 hours. I will not be buying any more Fenix products again.

Hi

Sorry for your problems with your light.

Did you buy the light new directly from an Authorized Fenix Dealer or from Fenix directly?

If so, then you have absolutely nothing to worry about after only 2 weeks- like others have stated Fenix has a one year warranty and if only 2 weeks has gone by then you should send it right back where you got it for a refund or replacement- has your dealer been helpful?

I am an authorized dealer of flashlights, Fenix included. I have sold 100 of these LD15's in the last few months with no issues at all- many folks have come back for more as gifts for the holidays.

Fenix makes tons of lights each year- maybe a million? If you did buy this brand new from a dealer then clearly you got a rare lemon- unfortunately, these things do happen. Fenix is a great company, by the way.

You have had plenty of replies here to your problem- let's hear back from you.

Best regards, Neil

I have owned many fenix lights,at least eight different models, all have worked flawlessly including my old still going strong,L1P,and L2p's.I also own several surefire's the only failure was a surefire 6p after five minutes of use, which surefire promptly replaced the bulb.I didn't blame surefire.Simply put a failure can happen to an mechanical product.

My P1D, which is my constant companion, went through a full wash cycle and high temp drying cycle in a jeans pocket over a year ago. Still works perfectly.

Im sorry to hear this, but just about all lights are going to have a rotten
egg in the bunch so to speak. I purchased a new Mag lite last year and
pretty much had the same problem as you are now having. This was one
of the newer models with the strobe feature and others as well.
I decided to go with Fenix lights for all my needs and have yet to be let down.
Just purchased the new TK 15 R5 and its one more bad a...light!!
Wouldnt trade it for any make or model for the time being.
Going to buy a couple more for birthday gifts this coming year.
Fenix will refund your cash and / or fix your light for free.
Just make sure you send it back to the dealer that sold it
to you or you can also send it to Fenix direct, but that will
take a while to get back. They will make it good!!
I know how you feel though as I thought the same
thing about Mag lites, but would still buy another.
Hope you get it straight!!!

I have several different Fenix lights and have used them extremely. The one I had a minor issue with was taken care of by email promptly. I actually had response from China followed up by Stateside directly from Fenix. My issue was similar to yours and they walked me through programming.

Fenix makes great lights! I've had my LD20 for about a year now and have used it in the most extreme of conditions. It is still running on the same batteries as it was when I bought it and has never failed me.

Fenix also offers a good warranty. How about you try sending it in for warranty repair before you go complaining?
