Don't mess with the ESEE 5---it is the BEAST of all fixed blade survival knives!

I beg to differ, I used my ESEE 5 to baton through a double-parked car, then to prepare some sashimi for dinner and afterward it renegotiated my cell phone contract to save me $300 per year!

After that I knew it was far to dangerous for human hands and it's power was not of this earth. I had it jettisoned into the sun where I am sure it still rests intact to this day

Or he is just provoking our conversations so he can learn details about particular knives…
If he really used the knife enough outside, he would know why 6 and Izula are much more popular than the other models…
I had 6 before and even I’m no longer go out overnigh, I still work around the house and did use it for everything you’d use it regularly on a trip. I liked it a lot as size, balance… Steel is fine. Yes, infi is probably better but Busse are more expensive and bulkier IMO. I like their Swamp Rats for smaller knife and …

… the Sykos, slightly larger. I don’t like however the blade coating and that’s why I don’t have one, but those I think,
are very well thought models.

I bought ESEE 4 to try around the house and I did like it but probably wouldn’t take it on a trip simply because it’s lacking some chopping, that I like to be able to do with such knife, not heavier enough… On the 6 I’d change the scales, but this is me, most people like the regular scales… I loved the knife anyway… Old picture obviously,
don’t have this one anymore, gave it away to a friend of mine years ago…
