I have a zt 0561bw. I wanted one for a while and found it. Since I received it I have not came around to using it. I want to use it but at the same time i don't. I'm not sure if it's the cost or that there discontinued. Has anyone else encountered this same situation?

three different answers from three different people. I guess I have to bring myself to use it. I doubt I'm going to sell it although I have tried just not on here. I'm kind of wishing I found one used. I feel like I wouldn't care being that it would be used.

Only other choices i can think of is just admire it, or buy an additional one to use. You probably feel that way due to price and it being discontinued. But its so worth it to use it. I like my knives even more when i put my own use on them. And its like so nice using a nice/'high end' knife. Just like using a quality tool or driving a nice vehicle.

All the time. It led me to buying two of everything. Then when I got bored with it, I would sell both and lose money on both. Then I realized a knife is meant to be used and enjoyed. If you cant do that, it really is worthless.

I buy two of the ones I truly covet. A user and a treasure.

But in your case , I say use it for just light duty/edc tasks. You can't enjoy it if you don't use it somewhat.

The way I am looking at it, this knife doesn't have any stories yet. Every ding, scratch, chip, sharpening, and mark for better or worse, will be by your hands.

Go make some memories with the knife that You hunted down. You wanted this knife, now You own it. Now go earn it.

It's your knife to do with as you want. But consider this: Say you decide to keep it in mint condition, so you avoid using it. Not to get morbid, but when it's your time, you cannot take it with you. Then like your other belongings, your knife will be sorted through by your descendants, or whoever that task falls on. Most likely, that knife will end up with someone who uses it or just sells it off to some unknown person. Maybe they won't care for it like you do and it ends up in some garage, toolbox or storage facility. Maybe it will end up with some kid who throws it at trees.

OTOH, if you use it for yourself, you will probably end up getting much more life and enjoyment out of it than by fretting over its cost or its rarety.

Just a thought.

Do you really want to go to the grave without ever having used that knife you loved? If you bought a car you loved would you not drive it?

Yep, use it. There is always something better out there and/or just over the horizon is the justification I use.

Knives weren't made for hanging on the wall.... paintings were created for that.

Knives were made for cutting stuff. That's where the true beauty of a knife lies, in its use as a quality tool.

Don't insult the knife, man. Use it and appreciate it every time you do.

You want something for the safe, start buying savings bonds.

Just posted a similar thread over a grail CRK. I use my knives, but this one was tough to get over the user hump. Anyway, I say use it. Don't leave it in mint condition for the next guy. I use it, enjoy it. Life is shorter than you can ever know.
